Consultancy Assignment for Facilitating Training of Trainers on Right to Food Analysis and Development of Advocacy Strategy for Nepal

Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LI-BIRD) and Aasaman Nepal is implementing a three-year project “Linking Agriculture and Natural Resource Management towards Nutrition-LANN+” in Dhading and Salyan district of Nepal with financial support from BMZ/German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and Welthungerhilfe (WHH). The overall objective of LANN+ is to achieve nutrition security through behavior change and empowerment. The project works with several intermediary organizations and actors, including female health workers (FCHVs), elected local government at the community and association level, leading farmers, local resource persons (LRPs), local stakeholders, agricultural advisors, government health workers, farmers' groups, traders of agricultural goods and services. One of the project’s key objectives is to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens to reinforce their resilience and ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition. The project has adopted advocacy as one of the key tools to ensure the rights of the socially vulnerable group and scaling up of LANN+ approach at three tiers of government i.e., local, provincial, and federal levels. The project envisions the advocacy strategy will contribute to the sensitization of citizens and CBOs and bring recognition and integration of the LANN+ approach in nutrition and food security-related local, provincial, and national programs and policies. To bring the envisioned change, the project has identified the need for capacity-building for the project staff to be able to analyze, develop, and implement advocacy strategies on the Right to Food and its linkage with agriculture and natural resources management for securing nutrition and food security.

LI-BIRD invites all the eligible consultant/firms to submit the proposal for providing ToT on Right to Food Analysis and Development of advocacy strategy for Nepal. The bidders shall comply with all the details mentioned in the ToR while submitting the proposal:

Proposal must be written in English language. Proposal received after the deadline will not be considered for evaluation.

Proposal that does not meet the requirements will be rejected. Proposal that meets the requirements and offer the best value for money will be selected.
