About the Organization: 

Women Empowerment Action Forum (WEAF) Nepal is a women-led NGO established in 2004 being registered in District Administration Office, Dailekh. WEAF Nepal is a pioneer organization that advocates women rights and youth empowerment. WEAF Nepal envisions just and equitable society and puts women and youths at the center in its all initiatives. Its actions are dedicated to women/youth empowerment, economic empowerment, women-human rights and access to justice, leadership and development, inclusive governance and social justice with accountability and transparency. Its organizational presence is expanded to all the districts of Karnali Province. WEAF Nepal has been working with the Nepal Government and national/international Non-government Organizations. 

About the Program: 

PROYEL (Promotion of Youth Engagement in Local Governance Process) Project is supported by the Delegation of the European Union to Nepal to promote engagement of youth in democratic and governance process and in the protection, promotion and fulfilment of human rights. The project is to be implemented in eight selected municipalities of Province 2 and Karnali Province. In collaboration with Helvetas Nepal, Women Empowerment Action Forum (WEAF) Nepal is going to implement this project in Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot districts of Karnali Province. Hence, Women Empowerment Action Forum (WEAF) Nepal invites applications from committed, experienced and dynamic Nepali citizens for the following positions:

1.  Position: Province Level Project Coordinator (1) 

Job Location:  Liaison office/Surkhet with frequent visits to project sites

Job Duration: 3 years with the possibility of extension

Job Purpose     

  • Leading and ensuring efficient and effective planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project activities as well as management of the project resources
  • Contributing to promoting an enabling environment for greater engagement of youth in the local governance process 

Required Education, Experience and Social competence

Master’s degree in social science, rural development, public administration, public policy, or any other relevant field. At least 5 years of working experience in local governance, youth engagement and accountability-related project/programme. Work experience in the emergency context, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, is an asset. Commitment towards gender equality, social inclusion and poverty reduction.

2.  Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer (1) 

Job Location:  Liaison office/Surkhet with frequent visits to project sites

Job Duration: 2.5 years with the possibility of extension 

Job Purpose

  • Integrate and coordinate for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning of program activities and youth engagement aspects in planning, implementation, reporting of project activities.
  • Provide technical backstopping and capacity building support to the third parties and municipalities on MEAL and youth engagement aspects

Required Education, Experience and Social competence

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, or any other relevant field. Minimum 3 years of working experience in programme/project implementation with practical experience in addressing Monitoring and Evaluation process or youth engagement aspects. Work experience in the emergency context, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, is an asset.
