Welfare Association for Children Tikapur (WACT) (बाल कल्याण संघ-टिकापुर) is a non-government organization working in the areas of child well-being, community health, education, peace and transformational development since 1996.

WACT is seeking to recruit competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidates for the following positions for HATEMALO for Child Wellbeing and Integrated Development Project, being implemented in partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN).

Duty Station: Tikapur Kailali

Contract duration: Till 31st March, 2025 with possibility of extension as per the position available.

Project Working Areas: Tikapur, Bhajani, Ghodaghodi, Gauriganga Municipality and Kailali rural municipality of Kailali district

Position Description:

WVI Nepal’s Country Strategy 2026–2030 is designed to enhance the well-being of 1 million vulnerable children across Nepal. It aligns with national efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrates World Vision’s core project models and approaches through the Integrated Program Framework (IPF). This framework guides implementation within WVI Nepal’s Area Programs (APs), ensuring a focused response to key child well-being issues in respective APs.

Each Area Program has developed a tailored implementation plan through a participatory and consultative process led by the local NGO partner. These partners will establish dedicated teams to lead and manage project execution. The position will be a vital member of this team, playing a key role in driving the project toward its intended outcomes.

This position will work within an Integrated Program Framework (IPF) to ensure child protection standards in area programs under PROTECT project model including Child Protection (CP) Core. The position will ensure technical guidance and assurance of child protection components in IPF implementation. The position will provide upward support to project lead to manage project under PROTECT including CP Core in the respective district and APs with WVI Nepal's sectoral quality standards, implementation guideline, and Government's laws and policies.

In addition, the position will provide downward support to project team and IPF mobilizers to have effective and efficient CP-related interventions in APs. This includes capacity building of project team and IPF mobilizers on CP issues; simplifying project implementation guidelines; liaise with local governments and stakeholders including CP actors; and ensuring children, families and community groups are empowered against all forms of violence including sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) against children and women.

The position requires to be innovative and have problem-solving skills to adapt changes and multiple priorities. It further requires adopting integrated and multi-sectoral approaches to address CP risks to produce sustainable changes for the overall well-being of most vulnerable children and families.

Reports to: Program Coordinator / WVIN Field Technical Leads, Field Office

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to project team and IPF mobilizers on child protection.
  • Ensure timely planning and implementation of child protection interventions aligning with PROTECT core project model.
  • Support Project Lead to managing the project under child protection.
  • Support field team to implement project and conduct capacity building initiatives for children and families on CP issues.
  • Timely assess, communicate and manage the project risks and ensure the timely mitigation measures.
  • Ensure safeguarding compliance of project and organization.
  • Engage with district and local government officials, stakeholders and CP actors for policy influencing, campaigning and improving CP services.
  • Engage with district level like-minded I/NGOs for joint CP advocacy and consortium/ network building.
  • Ensure proper CP related case management internally in CIR and externally in CPIMS.
  • Conduct periodic project monitoring and timely provide feedback and input to the project team.
  • Ensure timely and quality project reporting.
  • Generate field evidence and success stories to showcase project impact.
  • Ensure meaningful and quality child participation including RC participation in the project.
  • Ensure community feedback and response mechanism at community level which is GEDSI friendly and accessible.

Required Education/Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

  • Bachelor's in social work, sociology, law, or related fields
  • Strong understanding of child protection, survivor-centered approach, CP-related laws, policies and mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity building of children, parents and care-givers, community campaigning, CP case management, and policy advocacy.
  • Knowledge in project management.
  • Experience working with community groups and children including community orientations and training facilitation.
  • Strong experience in CP-related capacity building/ training facilitation
  • Monthly budget forecast and planning, quarterly expense tracking and review of expenses.
  • Good report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports
  • Sound skills in capacity assessment/training need assessment process and tools for staffs and target group and project staff mentoring and onsite support
  • Skilled in using Microsoft office applications.
  • Enthusiast applicant must have 2 wheeler driving license.
