1. Project Coordinator based in the field

No.of Vacancy: 1

Bahadur Social Project (BSP), a spanish non-profit, is looking for a committed Project Coordinator, and 2 (two) committed Field Assistants (FA), based in the field (in Gandaki Gaunpalika, Gorkha), to implement project activities, working in a Chepang community.

Bahadur Social Project aims to promote a sustainable development in rural and remote areas through education: working with primary government schools (in an education program) and local communities (in a development and sensitization program).

The figure of the PC will be of importance, coordinating a team of two (2) Field Assistants, assessing main needs, and making sure that all the activities are correctly implemented.

The PC should be open to live under minimum conditions, based in the BSP office in the field.

Responsibilities:

Main objectives: build relations with major stakeholders (school staff, families and government —through weekly/monthly calls) and coordinate activities in the field.

1. Rapport Building with local stakeholders.

2. Organize meetings with focal people and groups:

  • SMC, Communities, school staff, etc.

3. Assessing teachers and school needs in the field.

4. Assessing communities needs in the field.

  • Taking surveys with the BSP format in the communities.

5. Coordination and implementation of activities and programs in the field.

  • Some of them already written down in the BSP Plan of Action.

6. M&E and report writing:

  • Weekly and monthly reports to be submitted to the Project Manager.

7. Basic accountancy:

  • Forecast expenses and budgeting.
  • Justification of expenses.
  • Estimation of monthly expenses

8. Coordination team in the field:

  • Two field assistants will be under the PC.

9. Proactivity will be a plus: the organization will encourage the PC to assess any need and write new programs to implement.

Requirements:

  1. Nepalese nationality.
  2. Bachelors completed in social work, education or similar.
  3. Excellent written and verbal English and Nepali.
  4. 2 years commitment is required.
  5. At least 2 years’ experience working in a rural place in the humanitarian sector.
  6. 75% of the time (average) will be spent in the field, living with the rest of the team under limited conditions.
  7. IT skills: MS Office, to be able to write reports and budget.
  8. Salary: following the BSP scales, and according to the candidate experience.

2. Field Assistant based in the field

No. of Vacancy: 2

The figure of the FA will be of importance, connecting the project with the main stakeholders, and implementing activities in the field.

Responsibilities:

Main Objectives: implementation of programs and build relations with students.

1. Implementation of Tuition Classes (teaching mainly English and Math. The F.A. will also plan the program and activities in a quarterly basis)

  • Tracking attendance, inventories and taking weekly and monthly tests.

2. Implementation of ECAs:

  • Plan activities’ calendar.
  • Implementation and tracking attendance.
  • Tracking inventories.
  • With one week in advance FA will send the proposed activities.

3. Women Empowerment Group (under supervision of FC):

  • Building the group and stablish relations with the components.
  • Planning every monthly session in advance (will send the program one week before).
  • Implementing sessions.
  • Gathering and coordinating the group.

4. Youth Club (under supervision of FC):

  • Building the group and establish relations with the components.
  • Planning every monthly session in advance (will send the program one week before).
  • Implementing sessions.
  • Gathering and coordinating the group.

5. Gathering and meeting class captains in a weekly basis

6. Support Field Coordinator in surveys & HH visits.

7. Fill the BMI and monthly update.

8. Fill surveys in the excel template.

9. Supporting school in basic needs:

  • Covering classes if needed.
  • Assist teachers in managing and monitoring the assembly.

Open program: will be given a certain budget to assess, prepare and implement a personal program in the field (with the guidance and support of the Field Coordinator).

Requirements:

  1. Nepalese nationality.
  2. Bachelors running or completed in social work, education or similar.
  3. Excellent written and verbal English and Nepali.
  4. Some experience working in a rural place in the humanitarian sector.
  5. 75% of the time (average) will be spent in the field, living with the rest of the team under limited conditions (1-year contract will be signed)
  6. IT skills: MS Office, to be able to write reports and budget.
  7. Salary: 20.000rs (13 pays).
  8. Below 24 years old (for this position BSP wants to offer opportunities to recent graduates or last year students).
  9. Minimum of one-year commitment with the project.
