Information and Human Rights Research Center (IHRC) a non-governmental organization based in Nepalgunj, Banke, is seeking qualified and interested Nepali citizen for the following vacant position under USAID funded Civil Society: Mutual Accountability Project (CS:MAP) implemented in Banke and Bardiya district. (Vacancy Published date December 15, 2019) 
Designation: Project Coordinator 
Duty Station: Nepalgunj, Banke with frequent travel to Bardiya district 
Duration: One Year 
Key responsibilities:
  • Lead to plan and implement CS:MAP project activities as per annual work plan, budget and focus of the project and support team to implement the program activities 
  • Promote citizen-government engagement in line with program focus/plan and identified advocacy issues to strengthen public services delivery and resources uses 
  • Conduct different activities with civil society organizations (CSOs), media and local government to improve public perceptions and understanding on the role of CSOs 
  • Carry out the project activities and lead efforts to strengthen public services delivery and resources use 
  • Facilitate different program activities at district and local level that will promote citizen government engagement and participation 
  • Lead the advocacy efforts based on identified advocacy issues and actions at district level 
  • Prepare annual, quarterly and monthly plan, reports and update sand submit to FHI 360 ensuring reporting timeline and quality 
  • Carry out monitoring and supervision of the project activities and support district team to carry out activities in line with program and focus, plan and budget 
  • Coordinate with district and local government to strengthen their efforts public services delivery and resources uses and advance local solutions 
  • Carry out other activities as per program need and assigned by Executive Director, chairperson and board 
Position requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Social Science, Developmental Studies or relevant discipline with 3 years of working experience in development sectors preferably in advocacy and governance
  • Experiences in working with the marginalized community and government 
  • Experiences in working with Civil Society, Governance system strengthening and Human Rights.
  • Fluent English & Nepali languages is required for recording and reporting for the project 
  • Microsoft office package proficiency with basic IT skills 
  • A self-initiator to work in a multi-cultural environment and handle work pressures
