Lutheran World Relief (LWR), a U.S.-based non-profit development organization, is seeking to recruit the following position for Nepal Office
Program Manager – REAL
The PM-REAL core functions are to lead playing a strategic country level role supporting the management of systems level knowledge and evidence gathering on rural economies and agriculture livelihoods. She/he will own the systematic country level knowledge around the Rural Economies and Agricultural Livelihoods (REAL) Strategy and will be required to weave that information to the country team who are working on project design, proposals, positioning and donor engagement. The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the project. The PM will oversee and monitor the implementation of activities, manage local implementing partners, and ensure the projects meet the highest international standard of implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, economics, business, or development studies, masters preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience managing international donor-funded projects, with experience in Nepal preferred with a high level of cross-cutting responsibilities.
- Experience engaging the private sector in rural agricultural development programs. Managerial experience working in the for-profit sector in Nepal preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in managing research teams with at least one evaluation and one baseline study experience.
- Experience with positive stakeholder engagement, including producer organizations, national and international NGOs, the agribusiness private sector, international donors, and government officials.
- Proven ability to work independently; effectively manage time and competing priorities, complex tasks; and identify opportunities and challenges and propose appropriate responses or solutions.
- Proven excellent project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in effective team coordination and management.
- Fluency in Nepali and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Project, MS Outlook, MS Word and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of his/her time within Nepal.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Household Economic analysis
The position is Contingent upon funding, currently committed through September 30, 2020.
