Program Manager

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) is an International NGO that supports the building of democratic societies around the world. Since 2006, IFES Nepal has worked with the Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) and local civil society partners to enhance citizen participation and strengthen civil society, governance and transparency.

IFES Nepal is seeking a Program Manager to oversee program design and implementation, reporting writing, monitoring and evaluation and product development for IFES’ women’s leadership project and other program activities. This position will be under the supervision of the Country Director and Deputy Country Director and will be full-time based in Kathmandu with potential for some travel outside Kathmandu.

Roles and Responsibilities:

        Lead and manage IFES’ women's leadership program activities and provide support for other IFES activities as requested, monitoring activities to ensure project deliverables are being met;

        Provide day-to-day technical support for IFES’ program activities, ensuring timely and high-quality implementation;

        Proactively communicate with IFES leadership, relevant team members and local partners on program activities;

        Closely monitor program activities to ensure donor regulations and policies are adhered to and deliverables are met with consistently high quality; 

      Support the Country Director and Deputy Country Director with the preparation of written reports and presentations on IFES’ program as required, specifically providing inputs for bi-monthly operational reports and donor reports;

        Curriculum review and development, in partnership with IFES staff and international consultants;

        Provide technical and logistics support to IFES’ subaward partners in implementation of project activities;

        Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donor counterparts, relevant NGO’s and IFES Nepal’s partners;

        Monitor relevant political developments affecting the programs and brief the Country Director and Deputy Country Director as needed;

     Support to manage program staff, including participation in recruitment of program staff and consultants, preparation of scopes of work, and performance monitoring and management of IFES Nepal staff and consultants working on the program;

        Oversee planning, administration and logistics for special events and travel organized by IFES Nepal;

         Other relevant duties as assigned by the Country Director and Deputy Country Director.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

·         Bachelor’s degree in international development, political science, women’s studies or a related field, Master’s degree preferred;

·         Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with proven track record in international development or related field;

·         Experience managing CSO partner projects;

·         Strong grammar and editing skills;

·         Excellent organizational skills;

·         Fluency in English and Nepali is required;

·         Ability to work independently in support of a team.

·         Availability to travel up to 15%
