Pre- Primary Education Coordinator and Admin and Finance Officer

Nepal Agroforestry Foundation (NAF) is a leading non-profit making National NGO and a clearing house for agroforestry in Nepal established in 1991 by leaders of community-based organizations (CBOs), Agroforestry practitioner farmers, various professionals of Nepal and is registered under the Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal. NAF, as an umbrella organization, provides innovative agriculture techniques and agroforestry/community forestry support to CBOs, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community forest users groups (CFUGs), and savings & credit cooperatives (SCOs) and is committed to strengthen the capacities of poor and marginalized communities and groups to meet their basic needs. NAF directly or with its collaborative partners has taken on the challenges to develop innovative agricultural techniques, and forest gardening in private as well as community lands that could benefit farmers’ production system and would contribute to income diversification, food security, sustainable land use and consequently, social and economic development of rural communities.  It provides information, guidance and support to local authorities, cooperatives and farmers in setting up a sustainable agricultural and agroforestry system. NAF programs has helped to strengthen the capacity of local farmers to adapt agroforestry, to build resilience of rural people, improve and empower the rural women, in the several working areas mostly in mid hills and mountain areas. 

NAF announces job vacancies for the following positions. 

1. Pre-primary Education Coordinator (Full Time) Number of Position: One (1)

Major Responsibilities: 

  • Pre-primary Education Field Coordinator- Rasuwa based projects, (mainly LDS) will be responsible for program/project development, planning, implementing, communication, coordination and reporting activities including overseeing and controlling financial activities or other tasks of the relevant project as directed by the management and in close coordination with collaborating PARTNERS such as local governments and ASIA Nepal.
  • Project monitoring, evaluation and reporting and contribute in program planning and strategy development together.
  • Supervise, guide and mentor sub ordinates, produce event report as well as monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports maintaining district and field level database in line with project results and output indicators.
  • Collect, compile, analyze and report the field data for research and knowledge development purpose including case studies and success stories.
  • S/he will be responsible to the  Field Coordinator of Rasuwa project support office, Director of NAF and report to partner and support agencies (mainly to LDS PM of ASIA Nepal)
  • Monitor project activities regularly in given field area and report to field coordinator and Project manager in ASIA-Nepal
  • Ensure that the project activities are effectively delivered according to the project plan and time frame.
  • Communicate with local government bodies and schools while conducting programs in project areas.
  • S/he has to lead for the collection of field data as per the needs of the community to develop new project proposal and should actively participate for writing project proposal.
  • Responsible to guide teachers and school leadership skills and knowledge on the development of young children teaching techniques (Pedagogy)
  • Arrange and organize parents’ seminar, SMC meeting and PTA meeting when needed which is to empower parents with knowledge and understanding of the emotional development of their children and to give them some tools which will guide them as they bring up their children (Child psychology).
  • Guide school/teachers to implement developmentally appropriate child-friendly education, pedagogy, assessment system, and other things in the school.
  • Conduct baseline, midline and end line surveys, making assessment for ASIA Education sector improvement in the area.
  • Coordinate with assigned LDS secretary for updates when needed.

Required Qualification and Skills: 

  • Minimum Intermediate Degree in Education or related fields (Bachelor degree is preferred),
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on Program /Project Development, Planning Management, Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting related to education project (Early Childhood Development Education Sector).
  • Strong communication, presentation, writing, and speaking skills both in English and Nepali
  • Strong knowledge of project management, resource management, administrative works and computer applications
  • Local will be given more priority of Naukunda Rural Municipality
  • Report writing skills
  • Social/humanitarian/Early Childhood education project management (from assessment to reporting) experience required
  • Priority will be given to a candidate having teaching and two wheelers license
  • Knowledge about monitoring tools like KoBo will be plus
  • Priority will be given to those candidates having skills in the Tamang language ( Frequently Tamang language is spoken/or as her mother tongue).

Project Duration: 12 months (possibility for extension of more than one year)

Duty Station: Project Support Office, Kalikasthan, Rasuwa( with frequent visits to project area )

2. Finance and Admin. Officer (Full Time)

Number of Position: One (1)

Major Responsibilities: 

  • She/He will be responsible for overall financial management, financial records and maintaining the books of accounts. She/He will also be responsible for communication, procurement, logistic management and other administrative works including field visit and monitoring of coffee and tree planting activities with the team related to logistic and finance related activities 
  • Prepare and check all voucher, receipts, travel bills, travel order, date and other supporting documents submitted by the project personnel.
  • Prepare monthly payroll and ensure routine disbursement of rent, utilities, supplies, electricity, telephones, internet, and others are made properly.
  • Support for the management of program activities through timely release of funds, confirmation of accuracy of documentation and timely settlement of advances.
  • She/he will be responsible to NAF head accountant in terms of preparation of the monthly financial report of Rasuwa based projects and submit to the ASIA-Nepal. 

Required Qualification and Skills: 

  • Bachelors' degree in business administration, commerce with financial management or related discipline
  • At least 3 years of proven related work experience with non-governmental organization 
  • Good knowledge of financial software, government laws & policies, procurement procedure, accounting, logistic/resource management, administrative works and computer applications 
  • Have sound knowledge regarding purchasing of material and quotation ideas
  • Priority will be given to candidate having work experience in NGOs/INGOs.

Project Duration: 5 months (possible to extent)

Duty Station: Central office, NAF (with frequent visit to Project support Offices)
