Job Title: Office Driver Cum Office Assistant
Full/Part-Time: Full Time
Reports to: Operations Manager
Primary Position Location: NREP Kathmandu Office with frequent field visits.
Programme Background
The Nepal Renewable Energy Programme (NREP) is a Government of Nepal programme funded by the British Embassy-Kathmandu (BE-K) aiming to transformational change in Sustainable Energy development in Nepal through increased private investment resulting in low-carbon economic growth and sustainable energy access for all. NREP operates in three Provinces: Madhesh, Lumbini, and Karnali. The Programme is implemented by the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC) with financial support from UKAid through the British Embassy-Kathmandu. the DAI Global UK Consortium—including DAI, Winrock International, Policy Entrepreneurs Inc., and Samriddha Pahad provides Technical Assistance to the programme.
Briefly, NREP has been designed to increase private sector investment to develop distributed renewable energy markets, primarily in commercial, institutional, and industrial market sectors; increase universal energy access, and a corresponding higher quality of life, to Nepali citizens living in remote regions and facilitate a policy, planning, legal construct, and regulatory environment conducive to both enabling and sustaining progress in RE market development and universal energy access.

Scope of Work
a. Office Driver
- Serve as the office driver for official staff travel within Kathmandu, and frequent travel to Province Offices and other working districts as and when required;
- Monitor the vehicle condition on daily basis, and notify the Operations Manager of any technical problems that exist in the vehicle;
- Update logbooks and maintain clear-cut records of the vehicle movements, obtain signatures from the relevant users and indicate the purpose for which the vehicle was used;
- Be up-to-date on driving regulations in Nepal and follow changes that occur;
- Ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy, insured, and meets the official requirements and documentation of the Nepal Transport Authority.
b. Administrative Assistant
- General clerical duties such as photocopying, binding etc.
- Maintain office inventories of utilities, tea/coffee i.e. water, gas, toilet paper etc.
- Supervision on water supply and sewages system and report to OM for necessary action.
- Collect and deliver official documentations from and to offices
- Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Qualification:
- School Level Certificate (SLC); a good track record of safely driving vehicles and experience in general office administration duties such as visa processing, banking, etc.;
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in driving vehicles (e.g., jeeps and cars) in other organizations; Experience of driving in remote district of Kathmandu specially in Province Karnali
- Experience in carrying out various administrative tasks; • a thorough understanding of international organization rules and regulations for safe driving; • excellent driving skills; • good communication skills in English (verbal and written), and the ability to communicate effectively with the government officers; • basic mechanical/handyman skills; the flexibility to work extra hours when required, and be honest and reliable; and a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact, and the ability to work with people from different nationalities and cultural
