Introduction:

Medical Centre is a key department in British Gurkhas Kathmandu (BGK) responsible for providing Primary Healthcare to BGN Military personnel, UK Civil Servants and their dependents in Kathmandu. Besides it also gives medical support during Gurkha Recruit Intake each year and formulates medical business administration for BGN in Nepal.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description:

  • Provide administrative support to SMO BGN, translation assistance, producing meeting minutes etc.  
  • Registering new patients and updating medical records on DMICP as and when required. 
  • Updating BGN population statistics and managing the records from NHS and military sources. 
  • Assist audit/record keeping for quality control as directed by SMO and Practice Nurse Nepal. 
  • Mail despatch, collection, initial collation of Medical Cash bills of Military personnel and dependants, maintain stationery and QM cleanings stocks. 
  • Receive medical records for Mil pers, update and returned to units as necessary. 
  • Cover for Practice Manager during her absence. 
  • This is not an exhaustive list.   Undertake any other task as directed by the Line Manager.

  • Practice Administrator. 
  • Assist Health Liaison Officer (HLO) for Medical Billing and record keeping.
  • Healthcare Governance.
  • System administrator. 
  • Handle confidential issue.

Applicant should have served a minimum of 2 years as an Administrative/ Receptionist or be able to demonstrate experience up to the equivalent standard.

You should have good written/ spoken English and Nepali language skills.  Proven experience, qualifications, and training is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently. You will be assessed on your English language skills and IT knowledge through a Practical Assessment to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process. College level education/qualification (min +12/HSEB) is essential for this position.

Selection Assessment:

You will be assessed for your English language skills (written & spoken) and IT skills (Microsoft Office) through an Assessment, ONLY if you meet the minimum sifting standard for the job as per BGN requirement.

Candidates suitably qualifying the Written English and IT tests will ONLY be call forward for the Interviews.
