Heifer Project International Nepal (HPIN) is aninternational NGO working with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. For the past 23 years, HPIN has been working in holistic development involving women and youth as agents of change and households as units of economic activity to achieve sustainable development, job creation, food security, income generation, and employment promotion. Currently, HPIN works on goat and dairy value chains to promote agri-businesses and create employment opportunities for farmers and various actors along value chains.HPIN is accepting applications for multiple technical positions for an anticipated US government funded project in Nepal to provide Livelihood restoration related services. 

    1.   Team Leader (Livelihood Expert) 

Education: Master’s degree in social science or related subjects. 

Experience: 

  • Working experiences in the following areas: 
  • At least 10 years of working experiences in implementation of livelihood restoration programs.Nepali and foreign nationals may apply.
  • Environmental, gender and social issues in Livelihood restoration knowledge relevant to infrastructure projects/involuntary resettlement will be an added advantage.
  • Should have a proven track-record of successfully managing and coordinating at least 2 programs as team leader/deputy team leader/project coordinator of a diverse group of professionals in accomplishing studies or implementing programs projects of similar nature.
  • Familiarity with IFC PS or World Bank OP 4.12 or ADB SPS 2009, including the application of gender and social inclusion considerations and attention to vulnerable groups.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Nepali languages. 

    2.   Agronomist 

Education: Master’s degree in related subject 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the planning, design and implementation of agricultural programs. Nepali and foreign nationals may apply.
  • Should have experiences in at least 2 programs of similar nature. Experience in involuntary resettlement is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with IFC PS or World Bank OP 4.12 or ADB SPS 2009, including the application of gender and social inclusion considerations and attention to vulnerable groups.
  • Working experiences in rural setting in Nepal is required.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Nepali languages. 

    3.   Gender and Social Inclusion (GSI) Expert 

Education: Master’s degree in Sociology or Anthropology or Gender Studies or related subject. 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the planning, design and implementation of GSI activities involving involuntary resettlement. Nepali and foreign nationals may apply.
  • Should have experiences in at least 2 programs of similar nature. Experience in involuntary resettlement is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with IFC PS or World Bank OP 4.12 or ADB SPS 2009, including the application of gender and social inclusion considerations and attention to vulnerable groups.
  • Working experiences in rural setting in Nepal is required.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English and Nepali languages.
