Details / requirements:

This job description sets out the scope of the role of Link Building Specialist, together with the main duties of the post at the date when it was completed. It does not include or define all tasks which the post holder may be expected to carry out. Duties may vary from time to time without changing the nature of the post or the level of responsibility. 2. Scope of role

•To produce high quality link acquisition strategies for an assigned portfolio of different client accounts and to procure links and assist SEOs in procuring links.

•To ensure that all assigned clients have high quality, diverse and robust link portfolios. 

•To provide guidance and advice to the wider SEO team with regard to link building tools,methodologies and best practice.

3. Main responsibilities

•To develop high quality link strategies for a range of assigned clients.

•To engage in high level link prospecting, identifying sites and other properties and opportunities through which to gain high value links.

•To use a range of link analysis tools to track, monitor, evaluate and analyze existing client site links and competitor profiles in order to inform, refine and develop link strategies across the assigned portfolio of clients. 

•To attain relevant, high quality links.

•To remove redundant or low quality links.

•To oversee the submission and syndication of clients’ sites and content to web directories.

•To harness Web 2.0 properties and maintain and develop social media, blog and forum accounts.

•To assist SEOs in coordinating the implementation of link building strategies with other content and marketing strategies and with the content and online PR team.

•To work with SEOs and with the content and online PR team to maximize the SEO value of client marketing campaigns.

•To liaise in a timely and efficient manner with clients and any external agencies who areparty to a link building campaign where required.

•To develop a strong understanding of the products, competition, industry, marketing goals and objectives of each of the clients you build links for.

•To efficiently manage your workload and accurately record your time using the company timesheet system.

•To ensure your knowledge of the search engine marketing industry is kept up to date and relevant by networking/researching/reading blogs and news sources.

•To initiate and carry out objective testing of link building tools, resources, methodologies and techniques.

•To freely share knowledge, insight, best practice and ideas.

 4. Key skills and experience

•Senior-level link building specialist with wide-ranging experience of digital marketing, a passion for emerging platforms and full, broad and expert knowledge of a wide variety of creative, ethical and effective link building strategies and techniques.

•Thorough knowledge and understanding of SEO as a whole, including a detailed understanding of keyphrase research and its application to SEO and an excellent understanding of how Google and other search engines rank pages.

•Thorough understanding of HTML, CSS and web standards.

•Experience of using a variety of link analysis tools.

•Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information, news, data and research quickly – and distil the most important/relevant information to inform unique and innovative strategies for acquisition and growth.

•Excellent communications skills, with a solid knowledge of English grammar and the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise way, both verbally and in writing.

•Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills.
