Introduction:

Quarter Master (QM) Pokhara ensures management of QM matters at BGP. This department plays a role in the day-to-day operation of the Camp and its maintenance including Gurkha Recruitment.  It is responsible to provide varieties of services to BGN personnel, maintain hygiene throughout the BGP premises.

Job description:

BGN is a world-class organisation that delivers core tasks on behalf of the British Ministry of Defence. These range from recruiting events on behalf of the British Army and Singapore Police Force; supporting the welfare of British Gurkhas Veteran’s living in Nepal, and ensuring that BGN is ready and able to support the Nepali Government in the event of a environmental emergency, e.g., an earthquake.  

What you will be doing: 

  • Be present at the Swimming Pool as per the Pool opening timing and cleanliness of swimming pool.
  • Responsible for laying out chairs, cushions and beach, umbrellas as required and maintenance of the pool furniture.
  • Ensure all swimming pool stores are well-maintained and inform the QM Chief Clerk/Operations Manager of any losses/damages and those needing exchange.
  • We are seeking an individual with energy, enthusiasm and experience who will relish the opportunity of working in BGN and thrive in a challenging environment. As the life saver you will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, having an ability to interact with a wide range of teams in BGN. Your expertise on H & S and COSHH items would deliver the minimization of potential hazards and risk of an accident.
  • Potential Life Saver must be able to carry out intervention, rescue, first aid and CPR.
  • Follow other instructions as directed by the LM/QM BGP.

  • Salary 56,792.00 NPR per month, weekly working hours - 40hrs (Full Time, shift system and permanent).
  • Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.

Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Govt of Nepal Police Verification Report for employment.

A fit and healthy individual with valid lifeguard qualification is preferable.  Must be able to complete the basic fitness standard in a practical ability test.

  • Literate – suitable enough to read, write and understand English.
  • Implement and action Swimming Pool related policies and safeguard measures.
  • Be able to communicate effectively both in English and Nepali.
  • IT knowledge would be an advantage.
