Lead Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer

We have a collaborative and deeply passionate Tech Team who specialise in the rapid delivery of enterprise grade online (SaaS), real-time, web applications with enforced workflows, and who play a pivotal role in developing new platforms and maintaining existing system applications. Our environment is a modern DevOps offering with AWS, Quarkus, Flutter, react, Docker, Kubernetes, and NO Microsoft, and an extensive range of system accounts (Keycloak, Twilio, Jenkins, SonarQube, Badgr, nexus, Vanta etc.). We build hundreds of bespoke products, up-scale applications and implement configuration architecture across a range of platforms to meet our clients’ needs and deliver reliable technology systems.

We are seeking a Lead Development Operations (DevOps) Engineer based in Melbourne. The Lead DevOps Engineer role reports directly to the Technical Lead and is accountable for the development, delivery, monitoring and maintenance of a reliable, safe and effective technology infrastructure.

This role is responsible for all DevOps scope and leads a small DevOps team accountable for cybersecurity and critical infrastructure testing, monitoring and support.  This role is very much “hands-on” and requires an action-oriented, “can-do” delivery approach to service deployment, system management, platform and intrusion monitoring, and account management.   

The Lead DevOps Engineer role is trusted with critical and highly-sensitive information; requiring the highest levels of personal integrity and professional ethics.

Role Expectations:

  • Lead DevOps team
  • Maintain SLA 99.95% production operations for all Technology online products
  • Maintain SLA 99.5% availability for all Technology infrastructure
  • Organise with Management  to ensure immediate online support availability for production systems 24/7
  • Develop CI/CD framework to ensure automated testing, deployment and monitoring
  • Develop continuous backup and disaster recovery mechanisms
  • Maintain cybersecurity processes and defences
  • Manage external accounts and any associated integration

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4-years’ experience: DevOps, openSource, Linux (Ubuntu),
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience: CI/CD, mysql, docker, Kubernetes
  • AWS accreditation desirable
