OHW works with local communities and local health service providers to develop a culturally appropriate Network of Safety around mothers and infants, by raising awareness, teaching good practices, and distributing essential equipment to ensure that mothers and infants survive delivery and the first months of life.

Job Description: Training Officer

Position: Training Officer

Line Management Report To:  Training Coordinator

Technical Report To :       Training Coordinator

Duty Station: One Heart World-Wide, Kathmandu Office with minimum 50% field visits

Purpose of the Position:

The primary function of the Training Officer is to provide technical support and run training events in its program support. This position reports to the Training Coordinator and works closely with the program officer-clinical, logistic and procurement team and district team. This position will ensure that we meet the compliance with national guideline under the ministry of health and population technical divisions. The Training Officer's main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver all the training related deliverables in the OHW program districts and ensure the training quality
  • Ensure all the training are implemented as per MoHP standard protocol and guidelines
  • Assess effectiveness and determine the impact of trainees’ skills and KPIs
  • Conduct close supervision, monitoring and follow up of all training events 
  • Support district team for training planning and preparation
  • Work together with the program team to prepare technical briefs, concept notes and training related reports 
  • Coordinate and facilitate to develop training materials, presentations and technical contents 
  • Build the capacity of training and field supervisors at the district level
  • Ensure all the technical needs are met in order to deliver the high-quality trainings
  • Coordinate with district and municipal level stakeholders as per need
  • Support training coordinator to prepare the specification of training logistic 
  • Collect information on training related activities, outcomes, best practices, training photos, and lesson learned including success stories
  • Document and report training data, learnings and the best practices
  • Maintain training related files, official letters, and reports
  • Participate biweekly program meeting and be an active member of the meeting 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual plan and progress reports
  • Willing to perform other tasks assigned by supervisor

Job Specifications (minimum job requirements):

Academic qualifications and work experience: 

  • Bachelors in nursing with a minimum of five years of experience in related areas.

Skills and Abilities

  • Have in-depth understanding of on Nepal health care delivery system and current scenario 
  • Demonstrated experience in MS office package and basic computer applications
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in the fast-paced environment, 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Nepali
