Release Engineer

GrowByData is looking for a ‘Release Engineer’ to join the Team! S/he will be responsible for application build and deployment,  design and development/maintenance of Build Automation, script execution, environment setup, application/data backup and server monitoring.

TITLE: Release Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

• Good command in Git and software build / deployment process
• Good command over Linux commands and tools like ssh, tar, sed, grep, awk, vi, emacs, cron, etc.
• Capable of handling both Linux and Windows based servers.
• Intermediate expertise in at least one of the following scripting techniques 
  • Power Shell, Bash Scripts, Python
• Must be familiar with at least one programming language. 
• Good Knowledge in DBMS.
• Must be able to work under tight deadlines and follow the organization standard.
• Must be passionate about learning new technology and self-motivated / Self-driven to contribute ideas and share knowledge pro-actively
• Must be a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated components to support CI/CD ecosystem
• Manage deployment/release of various applications – web apps, web services, data pipelines
  • Make new builds and deploy it in QC/UAT platforms. 
  • Build and deploy changes in production platform.
  • Manage deployment of database scripts and data patches
  • Create new branch/tag in Git/Bitbucket. 
  • Setup new QC/UAT platform if needed. 
  • Take DB backup and restore it.
• Take ownership of production release and production platform.
• Drive and implement release automation wherever possible.

EDUCATION: B.E, B.Sc, Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year experience in release engineering role preferred, but candidates having interest and some knowledge of release engineering practice are also encouraged to apply.
