Position: Programme Support Officer

No of Position: One (1)

Reports To: Programmes Manager/ Growth and Strategy Manager

Location: Kathmandu

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Salary Range: NPR 754,000.00 – 975,000.00 gross annually

Objective/Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking for a dynamic and motivated Officer who, under the supervision of senior team members, will assist in developing, planning managing and implementing Street Child’s programmes. They will be responsible for streamlining and coordinating across projects to ensure high quality programme delivery and comprehensive risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Management

  • Consistent cross-team liaison, in close consultation with the Programmes Manager/ Growth and Strategy Manager, for effective day-to-day project implementation;
  • Oversee, monitor and assess smaller-scale projects;
  • Work with the Programmes Manager/ Growth and Strategy Manager to oversee staff training and other related activities;
  • Assist with report writing for internal and external audiences accurately demonstrating the impact of Street Child’s work;
  • Identify and support opportunities for funding and scaling of current interventions; and
  • Manage volunteers, adequately mobilising human resource to achieve set programmatic targets within given timeframe.

Reporting:

  • Consistently report on effectiveness of project interventions, making informed recommendations that can be basis for adaptations; and
  • Support with inception, mid-term and completion reports including incorporation of representative case studies from the field;

Protection and compliance:

  • Ensure Street Child’s safeguarding and child protection standards are adhered to across all projects and that any incidence of breach is immediately reported through appropriate channels and followed up.

Team work:

  • Work across teams to ensure best results for the projects as well as the organisation.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Social Sciences, Social Work and or relevant discipline;
  • Demonstrated minimum of 2 years’ experience in international development, in same or similar role
  • Good understanding of education concepts and issues in the development context;
  • Fluency in Nepali and English;
  • Demonstrable experience of using Microsoft office (MS word, MS excel, Power Point etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team;
  • Capable of taking initiative and working confidently with minimum guidance;
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage numerous tasks concurrently, use initiative, establish priority to work to tight or competing deadlines;
  • Adaptable, flexible and open-minded towards innovative approaches to all aspects of programme management and delivery; and
  • Accountable towards the role responsibilities and deliverables, demonstrating high efficiency at work while adhering to the core values of Street Child of Nepal.

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent preferred;
  • Prior experience on project management or delivery;
  • Demonstrable experience in training, facilitation, coaching and supervision;
  • Knowledge of educational assessment and evaluation;
  • Experience in staff management will be an added advantage;
