Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP)

Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of peace and human rights non-governmental organizations in Nepal. It started as a loose, informal forum in June 2001 and was registered with the government of Nepal as a nonprofit and non-political network in December 2002. Currently, COCAP has 43 member organizations. It has a secretariat in each of the provinces. It has a large number of volunteers who actively involve themselves in the various aspects of its works. COCAP aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit of peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. It organizes national/provincial level campaigns and programs on the issues of conflict transformation and peace building, transitional justice and social security/protection in coordination with its member organizations and other like-minded organizations.

Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of 43 human rights and peace non-governmental organizations located in 29 districts of Nepal. It has been working in the field of human rights, peace and Social Security since 2001. It aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit for peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. COCAP seeks application from energetic, experienced, self-motivated and qualified Nepali citizens for the following positions.

1.    Post Title:        Program Officer 

       Duration:         One year with possible extension

       Salary:             NRs. 40,000per month

       Duty Station:   COCAP National Secretariat, Kathmandu  

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design and implement the programs and plans in the given themes
  • Coordinate with the Regional Focal Persons in planning, implementing and monitoring of the provincial activities of the project
  • Document the programmatic activities 
  • Collect reports and case studies from the provinces and member organizations
  • Communicate and coordinate with provincial secretariats and member organizations as per need
  • Support to manage seminars, workshops and trainings as per work plan
  • Support to provincial secretariats and member organizations for advocacy and              campaigns
  • Develop strategy and effective mechanism to mobilize volunteers and interns and research potential volunteers 
  • Visit provincial secretariats as and when required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in social science or any other related field
  • Three years of relevant working experience, preferably within an I/NGO environment
  • Sound understanding on project development, planning, implementation and M&E
  • Knowledge of conflict transformation & peace building, Social Security/Protection, human rights
  • Good coordination, communication, team building and advocacy skill
  • Strong command of spoken and written English and Nepali
  • Strong computer skills
