Details / requirements:

Child Nepal (CN) in partnership with The Salvation Mission (TSM) is implementing Faciltiating Rural Engagement and Independence (FREI) Project in ward no. 5 and 6 of Melamchi Municipality, Sindhupalchok. The project aims to serve the earthquake victims through livelihood support, formation of community groups, empowerment packages, skill development and awareness on human rights. CN hereby calls this vacancy to fulfill the following position for the project.

Project Coordinator -1 Position

Purpose: The position will be responsible to manage the FREI project and coordinate with relevant line agencies of government and concerned civil society organizations. The coordinator will lead the project and positively engage the staff in achieving the project results. Moreover, the coordinator will be responsible to plan, implement, follow-up and monitor all the project activities and prepare the progress and event reports as required.

Term and Location: Fixed term employment till February 2020 based in Kathmandu with the possibility of extension.

Required Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, preferably in social work
  • At least two year experience working in the sector livelihood, income generation, skill development, children and women. 
  • Experience in project planning, operation, management, reporting and monitoring

Job Description:

Position:  Program Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead to prepare detailed project implementation plan
  • Coordinate with relevant government authorities and civil society organizations for the project
  • Observe and Monitor the daily operations and activities of the project
  • Develop project concerned forms and formats for information collection, reporting and planning
  • Orient and engage the team members in achieving the goals of the project
  • Develop monthly, quarterly and annual action plan and share with Director of CN and TSM
  • Facilitate monthly review and planning meeting and help all staff in preparing the weekly plan
  • Identify key gaps in the project and suggest in improving the project activities through appropriate actions
  • Build an excellent team spirit and create an enabling environment for project team to work
  • Maintain effective communication regarding the project with Director of CN and TSM
  • Prepare and share the monthly progress report to Director of CN for revision and further submit to TSM
  • Facilitate team members in preparing database, case stories, success stories and compilation of videos and photos related to the project.
