The Kakani Centre for Development of Community (KCDC) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1993, and since then has implemented projects in the sectors of children trafficking, HIV/AIDS, child labor, health and nutrition, education, agriculture and disaster risk reduction with gender as a cross-cutting issue in partnership with Nepal government and other agencies. KCDC is now implementing the 'Humanitarian Assistance to People Affected by Earthquake' project in the VDCs of Nuwakot district in partnership of Oxfam GB. General Information and Mission |
KCDC is a Community Based, relief, development and advocacy, Non-Governmental Organization, non-profit, non-political and Voluntary Social Organization (VSO) and it was created in 1993. Their entire staffs is mobilized daily to cover the basic needs of poor children, women, vulnerable, marginalized or excluded by the effects of natural disasters, wars and situations of economic collapse, poverty and injustice. KCDC is based in Bidur Chowk, operates in the areas of child development, women's empowerment, food security, emergency response, recovery and reconstructions, shelter, WASH, MAC, Gender, MEAL, health, nutrition, rehabilitation of infrastructure, water and sanitation and economic recovery, education, elimination of child labor, safe migration and stop human trafficking. With strong complementary technical expertise in the humanitarian field, international partners and KCDC and their common goal is to provide a comprehensive response to emergency, health and nutrition, WASH, livelihood, awareness, school buildings constructions, library erection, agro-forestry, child and women's empowerment, capacity building, single women support and help age supports in vulnerable, poor and Tamang Community in Nuwakot District by implementing different Program activities. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. |

KCDC will also seek to develop an integrated approach in its areas of intervention, with projects on prevention of CSEC and trafficking, safe migration, child protection, livelihood, cooperative, women empowerment, gender to comprehensively respond to the needs of vulnerable populations. |
KCDChad beenpresentamonglocalpopulations inNuwakotsince 2017 implementing SAMANA project.Currently,the organizationisrunningthefollowingprograms; Child Protection/ Safe Migration/CSEC and Trafficking Prevention under SAMANA Project: Since 2017, KCDC has been implementing the SAMANA Project as Fighting Trafficking, Prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC), Prevention of risky migration of children and young people in collaboration with the Local Government (Palika), in different wards of Myaghang and Kispang RMs. Currently, KCDC implements the Livelihood, cooperative, Income Generation and Gender in Myaghang and Kispang RMs, running in total 11wards in vulnerable and affected community in Nuwakot, KCDC collaborates with Palikas, community stakeholders, VCPC, CVCs, HMGs, CCs, schools, CSOs, NGos and CBOs for the implementation of the project. KCDC is responsible for both project implementers with financial support from the Terre des homes (Tdh Switzerland). Tdh's funding mechanism and has contracts until at least the end of 2020. |

JOB DESCRIPTION |
Overall Objective |
The Program Coordinator will manage and support the Project staffs in Myaghang and Kispang RMs in Nuwakot for the implementation of activities under the mission and objectives of the projects, will ensure the relevance of the activities implemented in line with Tdh/KCDC's strategy, and will propose new interventions in line with the evolution of the problem situation in the area. |

Be the direct line manager of the Project Staffs based at Bidur Nuwakot for implementation of the SAMANA Project in Myaghang and Kispang Palika in Nuwakot district. Ensure adherence to KCDC staff regulations and HR policies Identify gaps and needs in terms of project management, and provide support and on-job training to the Project Staffs in regards to budget management, report writing, monitoring and evaluation systems, representation, etc. Provide upon request support to the ED and HR teams at KCDC, and under the supervision of ED and HR team, implementation of disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution is needed between teams. Evaluate regularly the appraisals of the Project Staff. Organize project meetings, minutes reporting, team communication and team building |
3. COORDINATION AND PARTNERSHIP Participate in coordination meetings in Palikas and stakeholders and whenever possible in Myaghand and Kispang. Assist the Area project staffs in developing strong links with other Palika and stakeholders in project area, especially for prevention of CSEC; ensure that there is no overlapping between KCDC/Tdh and other NGOs, and ensures the establishment of coordination mechanisms in controlling the issue of CSEC and migration in the region. Under the supervision of the Executive Director, BoEC of KCDC with its funding partners (Tdh and other related partners) at local level, including local authorities, when necessary Maintain excellent ties, cooperation and regular communication with the Executive Director, Tdh team and other field program teams. |
4. SECURITY AND CONTEXT FOLLOW-UP |
He/She may take primary responsibility for security management for all staffs and equipments during the project period. Analyze the evolution of the local context and propose readjustments to the project area in terms of operations and staff presence in the field when needed. |
