Forum for Community Upliftment System Nepal (FOCUS-Nepal) Dhading a NGO working in diversified field in Dhading, District. Currently, it is looking for the potential candidates for the following position:

1)Position: PHP & social mobilization Assistant – 2 Nos. (Post Earthquake Reconstruction (PURNIMA) Project funded by OXFAM

Key Responsibility:

The PHP & Social Mobilization Assistant carries out tasks in accordance with the project document, the policies and systems of FOCUS-Nepal and donor agencies. She/ He shall follow the guidance of the Purnima/WASH Program Coordinator and closely work with other relevant departments necessary to fulfill the responsibilities.

  • Work prioritization, the ability to multitask and willingness to go the extra mile to support what the job demands is a must. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy confidentiality concerning to gender related activities.
  • Good planning and coordination skills to ensure a wide variety of activities, often with an urgent nature, to be carried out in an efficient and economic manner
  • Hygiene needs assessments, Assist to community on safe drinking water, waste water management.
  • Assist to WUC for Tariff collection mechanism development and its monitoring.
  • Assurance of collection of O&M fund in the WUC, in preconstruction phase.
  • Updates of WUCs Fund mobilization in post construction stage
  • Facilitation to WUC for registration process
  • Facilitation to WUC to affiliate in Fed WASH and expansion of networks
  • Assist to WUC to expand the relation with private sector  service providers
  • Assist to WUC and WSP Team for effective implementation of WSP plan.

Qualification, Skills & abilities;

  • Certificate level in public health or equivalent or relevant field, minimum of 3 year  experience in Public health  &  social mobilization in WaSH
  • Good communication skills both in English and Nepali.
  • Ability and willingness to work in team and to work under pressure and in remote/difficult circumstancesTrain and transfer knowledge to community. 
  • Document project and coordination activities and relay to PHE Officer, Line manager.
  • Provide basic assessment information on program activities that will need to be demolished. 
  • Liaise with the team, produce activity and status reports on the Area of Responsibility; 
  • Perform any other duties as required.

2)Position: PHE Assistant -1 No. (Post Earthquake Reconstruction (PURNIMA) Project funded by OXFAM

Key Responsibility:

  • PHE Assistant would be fully involvement in planning, need assessment, preliminary survey, detail survey and support to PHE Officer to design, drawing, cost estimation of water supply schemes.
  • PHE assistant would be responsible for Layout of water lines and water structures as per design and drawing (i.e Tap Stand, RVT, Intake etc) 
  • S/he would have to maintain quality of work by regular supervision, monitoring, guiding to social technician, WUC, skilled labors. 
  • S/he has to responsible for creating good working environment  by close coordination with PHP & SM Assistant, ST, and WUC
  • Assist to PHE for Preparation of detail implementation plan (DIP) of the Technical part of the WASH unit.
  • Assist to PHE on supervision of Water supply system construction activities.
  • The post has to assist the PHE in data collection and supervision of construction and rehabilitation of Water and sanitation related activities 
  • Regular supervision & involved in survey and design process of WASH scheme
  • Implement the program on the basis of DIP in close coordination with PC & PHE, Local authority, community and stakeholders.
  • Strengthen the capacity of Water User committee, Social Technicians in the field of construction, disaster preventive and sustainability of the construction.
  • Technical assessment, prepare technical report, feedback to the construction community/WUC and follow up, prepare work completion of report of each of the construction by the project.
  • Insure Quality of the Water supply systems, Hand washing points, prepare monthly technical progress report, & Supervise guide to ST, overall responsibility of WSS at field as ensure quality, time frame and over all field management

Qualification, Skills & abilities;

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering (Overseer) with at least 3 years in WaSH 
  • Experience of working in Humanitarian response programme will be preferable.
  • Tactfulness and excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Good communication skills both in English and Nepali
  • Ability and willingness to work in team and to work under pressure and in remote/difficult circumstances
  • Perform any other duties as required.
