Circus Kathmandu (CK) Partnership and Development Manager

Circus Kathmandu are looking for a manager with experience developing partnerships and programmes to build our unique social change outreach programme into a sustainable not-for-profit business.

Background

CK’s has pioneered an effective social change outreach programme within Nepal. The programme harnesses the magic of circus and film and the power of story-telling to directly connect with community audiences. From this connection, CK works alongside NGOs as advocates and workshop leaders to facilitate discussion on, and community-driven solutions for, social and human rights issues. CK’s unique form of engagement grabs people’s attention and facilitates thinking about social change in a different, solution-focused way. We work at grassroots level with people who can make change happen within a community. These are the same people who are most adversely affected by issues such as trafficking, women’s health and equality and who stand to gain the most by positive change: the targeted families and communities themselves.

CK have identified the need to link with partners who are also engaged with or have a desire to promote positive social change within Nepal and we need a manager to find new partners and broker these stakeholder relationships.

  • Act as the project manager focal point for all partnerships, ensuring clear communication with partners and logistical arrangements as necessary.
  • Liaise with like-minded organizations, corporations and media channels to raise awareness of the social outreach programme and core human rights / development goals.
  • Explore alternative ways of financing the social outreach work, including sponsorship, grants and through embassies, schools, and additional income streams in addition to CK’s performances (such as teaching workshops, film screenings, tourist programmes and individual teaching)
  • Explore and realize activities related extending the impact of Circus Kathmandu film ‘Even When I Fall’.
  • Maintain links and productive relations between all stakeholders. Build advisory board.
  • Create a standalone sustainable enterprise within 2 years, ensuring strategic sustainability goals and milestones are being reached in a timely manner.

Secondary Role:
