GGGI is looking for a consultant to join the team to support technical assistance and delivery of technical components of the Phase II of EMP. Activities will include a range of review, research, assessment of electric mobility options, stakeholder engagement and consultation, and the preparation of reports and recommendations for electric mobility, including strategy, plans and project concepts.

PURPOSE

The fundamental role of the Consultant is to provide high quality technical contributions to key outputs of the Electric Mobility Program.

PROGRAM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

  • Undertake research, including desk review, workshop consultations, interviews, consumer surveys, focus group discussions and other primary and secondary research modalities, to acquire and process data and information
  • Obtain, process and analyze key transport, energy, climate change, economic and mobility data for outputs and program requirements
  • Support the conceptualization of outputs and explore technical options, best practices and ideas
  • Draft key technical content for outputs, including plans, policy analysis, project preparation and feasibility, and support review, revision and general output development as needed
  • Engage with a range of stakeholders under the program

REQUIREMENTS 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in economics, engineering, climate change, energy, sustainable development, international development or any discipline related to the assignment. Relevant professional experience may be considered to supplement educational degree.
  • Preferably a minimum of three years of professional experience in above fields, with substantive experience related to policy and technical analysis and assessment, report preparation, communication and outreach, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Preferably international experience (outside of Nepal) or experience working with international organizations in Nepal.
  • Experience in electric or clean transport, mobility, energy and/or green growth-related research and policy analysis is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with government officials and development partners in Nepal.
  • Good English and Nepali language communication (speaking, writing and presentation) skills, including publication of written material and ability to produce high-quality visual aids. 

FUNCTIONAL

  • Demonstrated experience in conducting/supporting technical assessments, policy analysis, strategy development, green growth diagnosis, sector analysis, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work under pressure and to establish and maintain effective work relationships with people of different backgrounds.
  • Experience in data analysis, research, and application of quantitative/qualitative assessment
  • Experience in developing countries context, preferably on policy consultation and project development
  • Experience in event organization, outreach and communication
