Terms of Reference

For

Short Term Consultant (Media Expert) – National workshop for sensitizing media on issues of livestock policies.

Function:

The main function of the Media Expert is to conduct a national workshop to bring into light the countless issues regarding the agriculture and livestock sector presently ailing Nepal, and to sensitize the national media on it and bring forward the different program activities that Heifer Project International Nepal (HPIN) is performing to curb these issues.

Scope of Work and Key Tasks:

• Understand HPIN’s mission, vision, programs, and working approaches.
• In coordination with HPIN’s Communication and Resource Mobilization Manager and the program team, brainstorm the issues plaguing development journalists in relation to agriculture and livestock, its growth opportunities and current policies in Nepal.
• Develop different workshop ideas on sensitizing the media personnel.
• Develop a fair mechanism for the participant selection.
• Organize the workshop with facilitation
• Bring documented evidence of media being positive towards the issue (eg. Action plan, declaration, etc.).
• Perform other duties as requested.

Deliverables:

1. Workshop Plan
2. Signed Participant List
3. Workshop Presentations( power point)
4. Photographs from the Workshop
5. Workshop Report on Completion
6. Soft copies of literature and research materials (references if applicable)
7. Media Coverage of the Event

Eligibility requirements:

• At least Master’s Degree in the field of Media and Journalism with more than 10 years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in media sensitization, development reporting. Experience of similar nature of work is desirable. In case of a company, the company must be registered in Nepal and have more than 5 years of experience working on media sector.

Duration of contract:

Maximum of 5 working days, can be extended for few more days based on requirement.

Terms and Conditions for Submission of Quotation

1. The supplier should submit the quotation via email by 5:00 PM of 8th May, 2019 to the address as mentioned below, heifer.nepal@heifer.org clearly mentioning the title Consultant-Media Expert in their email subject line.
2. Price should be mentioned inclusive of VAT.
3. The copies of the following documents should be attached along with the Quotation.

• • VAT registration Document.
  • Latest Tax Clearance Certificate.
  • Firm/Company Registration.

Heifer International Nepal reserves the right to accept or reject any/all submitted Quotation without assigning any reason.
