Community Development Forum, Nepal established in 2005 is registered in District Administration Office, Dolakha and affiliated with Social Welfare Council with motive to support on social development. It is autonomous, non-profit making, politically nonpartisan and non-government organization.  It encourages community participation for protection; management and utilization of environment and natural resources by assuming sustainable development for basic need on self-dependence of rural people.  It is focused tocontribution on holistic development of country with enhanced awareness among people through agriculture, forest, environment, education, health, women empowerment, human resource development, social welfare activities.

Job title : Logistic Officer 

Working hours per week:  As per CDF Nepal  policy

Reports to                     : WSCR Project Coordinator & Water Aid Nepal(WAN)

Location                 : Based in District Office with frequent visit to project area

Job Summary

Logistics Officer shall shoulder the overall responsibility of Logistics and Material supplies of Water Security and Climate Resilient project of CDF Nepal   Dolakha under the overall guidance of the Executive Director and direct supervision of the Project Coordinator for the Water Security and Climate Resilient (WSCR) project. S/he shall also be partially supervised and assigned task by Water Aid Nepal Logistics Manager and Officer based in Water Aid Nepal, country office, Lalitpur.

The Logistics Officer performs the tasks in accordance with the programme budget, the policies and systems of CDF Nepal and Water Aid Nepal. S/he shall work closely with programme team as necessarily fulfills the following responsibilities.

  • Demonstrates commitment to CDF Nepal core values. 
  • Displays cultural, gender, religious, ethnicity and age sensitivity and adaptability. 
  • Work prioritization, the ability to multitask and willingness to go the extra mile to support what the job demands is a must. 
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and  confidentiality concerning Procurement  
  • Good planning and coordination skills to ensure a wide variety of activities, often with an urgent nature, to be carried out in an efficient and economic manner. 
  • Proper documentation of Procurement and maintaining records of day-to-day transactions, produce reports on the accounting records, 
  • To do all logistic tasks like availing Preparing Voucher, ledger posting etc
  • Supporting procurement as per BOQ and organizational policy.
  • Collecting   financial invoices/bills. 
  • Excellent knowledge of   Warehousing, quality control and operation, transport and fleet  management.
  • Assists the Program Coordinator and the team on organizing various events/activities of the organizations. 
  • Distribution of goods and materials as  instructed by program team .
  • Maintains  regular communication & coordination with relevant parties and agencies 
  • Maintains and updates the office filing system, equipment and fix assets in good running condition. 
  • Arranges the venue for the seminars and meetings, 
  • Proper documentation of admin related documents and office document 
  • Maintain stock book assets, record book, physical verification of Inventory and reporting 
  • Maintains the personal record of staffs and other confidential office records and files 
  • Procures goods and services based on the organization rules & regulations 
  • Supervising and controlling of office vehicles and equipment 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by ED, PC and Executive Board.

Communication and Reporting lines :Logistic Officer reports to WSCR project on all issues related to procurement of material, supplies and services . Specifically, Logistic Officer will 

  • Provide overall Logistic support to WSCR program team 
  • Logistic Officer reports to WSCR Project Coordinator on all issues related to Logistic management
  • Monthly Reporting to Programme Finance Officer of Water Aid Nepal

Professional skills and qualifications needed in the position

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management with 2 years of relevant experience 
  • Experience of working in Humanitarian response programme
  • Good communications, coordination and facilitation skills with knowledge on Logistic management 
  • Tactfulness and excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office package and other smart tools for the record and reporting of logistics.  
  • Good communication skills both in English and Nepali
  • Ability and willingness to work in team and to work under pressure and in remote/difficult circumstances.
  • Committed to rights based and gender sensitive work
  • Personal qualifications needed in the position
