FIAN Nepal was established in 2008 with the objective to promote and advocate for the realization of human right to adequate food in Nepal, focusing on the vulnerable people and communities.

FIAN Nepal was established in 2008 with the objective to promote and advocate for the realisation of human right to food in Nepal, focusing on the vulnerable and poor communities.

We are seeking highly motivated and skilled persons to join FIAN Nepal for following positions to implement its projects on "Strengthening the human right to food in Nepal" (2018-2020). The Project will continue on caseworks on right to food violations; sensitization and strengthening capacities of communities, collaborators and stakeholders on the right to food and related issues; policy advocacy and monitoring; and further initiate and facilitate processes towards strengthening food governance system in selected districts on the right to food and promoting further the justiciability of right to food in Nepal.

1. Field Officer (3) – Bajhang, Chitwan and Makawanpur Based

This is mid-level position. Bajhang based Field Officer is responsible to Regional Office Nepalgunj (Capacity Building Officer)in reporting right to food violation cases of the district. Chitwan and Makawanpur based Field officers are responsible to Central Office Kathmandu (senior program officer) in reporting right to food violation cases of the districts. The FO is overall responsible in organizing and managing the RtF related activities in the district and report writing of those.  This position requires collaboration and maintains smooth relation with local government line agencies and other stakeholders within the district.  The FO will also be involved in issues identification & documentation of right to food violation cases, conduct different trainings and interactions to empower affected groups to claim their demands through different advocacy actions as well as sensitized civil society organisations (CSOs) representatives and local government officials as per requirements.

 

Required Qualifications/ Experiences

Bachelor level in any discipline having two years working experience in NGO in same position. Gender, Human Rights (ESC Rights), capacity building and advocacy field is required. Experience and capacity to coordination and networking with local government & various stakeholders is must. Report writing skill both in Nepali is must and in English is desirable.
