VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Community Development Society (CDS) is a non-profit making, non-governmental social development organization established in 2001 under the Society Registration Act 1977 of Nepal. CDS has been working with vision of ‘Self-reliant, Healthy and Equitable society’ . CDS has been working in the sector of livelihood, health and sanitation, education, disaster resilience, environment protection,social security and inclusion and sustainable organisation development for the past 18 years.

CDS will implement “Enhancing Community and School Based DRR in Earthquake affected areas of Ramechhap District” (Phase II) project funded by Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH), Islamic Relief Germany andsupported by Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW). IRW is an independent humanitarian and development organization, serving humanity for 32 years. It has an active presence in over 40 countries across the globe. The project aims to strengthening the resilience of the local government and the communities, to prepare and respond to disasters and mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Management in cirtical sectors in partnership and coordination with local government and community groups . CDS is seeking proactive, innovative, self-motivated and dynamic personnel for the following positions.

DRR Project Manager

  • Master degree with 2 year relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ relevant experience on disaster risk reduction and community development
  • Knowledge of participatory approach and disaster risk reduction.
  • Knowledge of Project Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Excellent oral communication and facilitation skill
  • Good report writing and documentation skills in both Nepali and English
  • Experience in coordination with the government agencies

Finance Officer

(Fixed term till June 2020)

Manthali Office frequently visit in Field

  • Required Bachelor Degree in Accountancy/Finance from a recognized university with at least 3 years of proven successful experience in the field of accountancy/finance and administration functions in INGOs/NGOs/donor-funded projects.
  • Strong MS office skill, specifically excel
  • Knowledge of computerized financial, double entry accounting software
  • Strong observation skills and attention to details
