â–¶Introduction

AMDA-MINDS is a Japanese non-governmental, non-political and non-profit making organization which has been working in Nepal since 2008. Having its vision of “Family’s Today’s life and Tomorrow’s hope”, AMDA-MINDS has been addressing improvement of quality of life among people in socioeconomic vulnerability through enhancement of practical skills and intellectual knowledge in such specialized fields as maternal and child health, income generation, education, and rehabilitation after the earthquake. It is fundamental policy of AMDA-MINDS that local initiative and process for making decision should be respected.

The organization wishes to recruit a full-time Construction Supervisor to join its newly launched project for maternal and child health in Dang district, and to oversee all aspects of health facility construction from planning to implementation. 

 

â–¶Key responsibilities

1/ Design and plan of health facility construction

・Communicating with the rural municipality, conduct a feasibility survey

・Prepare layout plans and BoQ based on the feasibility survey in line with government standard

・Plan and schedule work assignments

 

2/ Community mobilization

・Support forming a “Construction Management Committee” among local stakeholders which is supposed to be a main body to manage the construction of health facilities 

・Provide the Construction Management Committee with proper facilitation for its better operation 

 

3/ Supervision, monitoring and reporting 

・Coordinate the procurement of equipment and supplies as needed

・Ensuring quality and safety, direct and supervise the work of laborer performing the construction 

・Manage training for maintenance 

・Maintain records for documentation and reporting

  

â–¶Requirements 

・Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related area 

・At least 5 years of working experience in relevant fields

・Professional experience in managing health facility construction in the projects of I/NGO or other development partners

・Strong and effective communication negotiation and interpersonal skills 

・Deadline and detail-oriented 

・Microsoft computing skills (word, excel, AutoCAD) 

・Spoken and written skills in Nepali and English
