Community Development Center, Nepal (CDC, Nepal) is a non-governmental, Non-Profit organization established in 2065 B.S and registered in District Administration Office Nuwakot and affiliated with social welfare council. The organization is actively working in the area of Good governance, community development, community empowerment, capacity development, food security & resilience, Disaster risk reduction and Climate change adaptation, poverty elevation, WASH etc. CDC- Nepal is community based organizations working actively in grassroots for sustainable livelihood outcomes through community empowerment; participatory, gender mainstreaming; GESI, inclusive and rights based approach. The organization has been providing services to marginalized, vulnerable and earthquake affected people for accessing local level resources. The organization aims to improve the health status of people and protect the environment by encouraging to build the improved cook-stove. CDC, Nepal is also helping livelihood sustainability programs. CDC Nepal is helping local people to recover from recent disaster with the help of Save the Children under ERR project in the sector of livelihood, health, child protection, Education, Wash, physical facilities etc. CDC, Nepal is partner with Local Governance and Community Development Program (LGCDP), Save the Children, Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF), UNICEF, UNDP, DFID, Care Nepal.

Details / requirements:

Reports to: Program Coordinator

Role Dimensions: The position oversees the finance and operations function of District Office and as a key member of the team this position holds the decision making authority as per CDC scheduled delegation and within CDC procurement policy and approved the budget and within budget holder’s approved budget.  

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

  • Prepare annual district budget as per guidance received from FHI 360
  • Review all payments document before payment is made and certify for payment.
  • Submit the monthly/quarterly/ annual financial report to Program Coordinator, report budget vs. actual on the monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Ensure that the office has an adequate fund in the implementation of day to day activities. 
  • Monitor Program in coordination with project staffs in order to strengthen their financial management system and to avoid non-compliance.
  • Maintains all project financial accounts, including accounts payable, checking accounts and field operation files.
  • Responsible for daily management of office building operations including electricity, drinking water supplies, and communication. 
  • Responsible for procurement of office supplies, expendable and non-expendable items 
  • Ensures that the office automation equipment including photocopy, printer in a good operating condition, and contact technician/service vendor for necessary repairs.
  • Ensures that the Office has adequate office/stationary supplies.  
  • Ensure adequate safety and safeguard and proper custodian of Inventory at District Office performs physical verification in timely and prepare an annual inventory report for submission to FHI 360 country Kathmandu office.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management with 3+ years of relevant experience

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of documentation and  Financial data analysis
  • Familiar with USAID  compliance, rules and regulations
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Internet
  • Strong knowledge of Excel 
  • Experience of  USAID grants management
  • Familiar with  accounting software
  • Experience in Audit management
  • Experience in financial monitoring and facilitation skill
