Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access (DBI EA) is a nonprofit, non-government organization established in February 2004 in Nepal with a goal to create positive change by providing critical information using Communication for Development (C4D) approaches. DBI EA aims to accomplish this goal by using the media, state of the art information and communication technology (ICT), effective partnerships and local community engagement. Since its inception in 2004, DBI-EA has implemented projects on an array of thematic areas including media development, health, agriculture and livelihood, human rights and transitional justice, good governance, primary education and early childhood development, gender issues, adolescent issues, and local development among others. DBI-EA creates customized communication and outreach solutions to address the critical issues across Nepal. This is accomplished through close partnerships with community radios and local media, which ensures greater local ownership, impact and sustainability. The communication component includes designing, producing compelling multilingual audio and multimedia content and broadcasting through national and local FM networks. Outreach activities include a wide range of activities like training, orientation, local partnerships, local content, Radio Discussion Groups (RDGs), public hearing, discussion forum, and edutainment fair. All activities are guided by DBI EA’s experiences in Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC).

Internship Opportunity
Digital Broadcast Initiative Equal Access(DBIEA), a non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the area of Communication for Development announces an internship opportunity at its popular weekly 45 minutes youth radio series- Saathi Sanga Manka Kura(SSMK). Each week SSMK has been produced in three different versions-principal version in Nepali and two local versions are made in two provincial languages,i.e Maithili and Bhojpuri. This internship opportunity is for the production of principal version of SSMK in Nepali in Kathmandu. The internship is for 3 months and interns are required to commit at least 30-40 hours per week. Interns are provided with a basics stipend to cover regular transportation cost while working with DBIEA.
Highly motivated adolescents(male and female),between18 to 20 years of age, who have completed+2 level, preferably specializing on media and communication, with a demonstrated interest in development communication, and with an interest to pursue a career in development and communication are encouraged to apply.
Description of duties
Supporting overall production of SSMKradio series, feedback and outreach management with following responsibilities:
1. Researching for SSMK radio series,
2.  Collecting required audio
3.  Developing program scripts,
4.  Manage feedback from audience and maintain a database,
5.  Carry out any other relevant task as assigned by the supervisor.
The interns will a lso have opportunity to participate in on-the-job training within SSMK team to build their skills further in the area of youth radio production during the internship period.
