Bagmati Welfare society Nepal (BWSN) is a local non-governmental organization established in Sarlahi district in 1995 AD with registration no. 65/2051 in District Administration Office (DAO), Sarlahi. It is also affiliated to Social Welfare Council (SWC) with registration no 13303 and NGO Federation Nepal. It is also institutionally associated with Human Right and Social Justice Forum–Nepal, NANGAN-Nepal NGO coordination committee, Sarlahi and Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) network. BWSN is primarily working for protecting and promoting human rights of marginalized, disadvantaged and vulnerable communities through developing their leadership and advocacy skills to claim their rights and engage in human rights promotion activities. BWSN has already implemented social and economic empowerment projects targeted to empowering marginalized and vulnerable communities especially women and girls (including to victims Gender Based Violence (GBV)) , Dalits, disadvantaged Madhesi and Muslim communities, single and pregnant women, differently able and elderly persons and other conflict victims for protecting and promoting their rights. 

BWSN is going to implement Intensified Active Case Detection (ACD) project of Malaria in 8 districs of province-2, The main aim of this intervention will be to conduct Active Case Detection in the community in the targeted 8 districts of province 2 and conduct public awareness, health education and community mobilization with the support and engagement of government health facilities staff, FCHVs, and private clinics staff.

Position: Intensified ACD Team Leader (IATL)/program officer 

Name of the Project:  Intensified ACD project of malaria (The project is till 15th January 2021)

Key role of position holder:

The Team leader will be based at province level or SR office with frequent field visit and act as a focal point of contact and responsible for programmatic and financial management of Intensified ACD program and perform the following activities:

  • Coordination with SCI, Government entities and other stake holders
  • Support team to mobilize for Intensified ACD program in High and moderate risk areas of malaria.
  • Organize orientation program for Intensified ACD team in close coordination with SCI/SR
  • Collect and compilation of malaria related data from Intensified ACD team and submit to SMC/Entomologist  and EDCD
  • Perform all administrative and financial activities following safeguarding policy and compliance related to Intensified ACD team and submit to PR 
  • Support and review staff performance 
  • Ensure the availability of malaria commodities in health facilities with close coordination with PHLMC, HO, NP/GP and SMC/Entomologist 
  • Support  at field work, monitoring and supervision of Intensified ACD program
  • Perform other activities as per need of Intensified ACD program in close coordination with SCI. 
  • Provide monthly programtic and financial report of the team to concern and ensure the entry of all the test done in HMIS.

Required qualification for position:

  • At least Bachelor in Public health / related field from recognized institute and registered in NHPC.
  • Health Assistant background preferred with some management experience.
  • Experience in community engagement and mobilization activities including conduction of trainings.
  • Experience in coordination and have a good understanding of the health system of Nepal, supply chain and local governance.
  • Preference will be given to the candidates having similar type of job experience, preferably working in malaria in community.

Skills:

  • The candidate familiar with financial supporting documents, self-motivated with team leading skill
  • Excellent communication and coordination skill, adaptable to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multitasking and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-
  • High level of integrity.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, MS excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good in English and Nepali/ local language.
  • Good report writing skill.
