Global Envirotech Initiative Asia (GEI-Asia) is a non-profit organization committed to health, environment and sustainable development. In collaboration with local governments, health institutions, and development partners, GEI-Asia is implementing the Cast Iron Pot Anemia Reduction Project to address high rates of iron-deficiency anemia in rural Nepal. This community-based intervention promotes the use of cast iron cookware and integrates nutritional education to improve the health status of women, children, and other vulnerable groups in the Nuwakot District.

GEI Asia is announcing  3 vacancies for 2 position (2 for Nuwakot District and 1 for Bajura District) and request all the interested  candidate to apply as per the detail given below;

1.  Position Title: Field Supervisor

Project Title: Reducing Iron Deficiency Anaemia through Cast Iron Pot Use in Nuwakot, Nepal

Location: Various Rural/Municipalities, Nuwakot District, Nepal

Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (12 Months, with potential extension based on performance and project need)

Position Summary

GEI-Asia invites applications from qualified local candidates residing in Nuwakot District for the position of Field Supervisor. The selected candidates will be vital in community-level implementation, health education, monitoring and engagement activities.

Key Responsibilities

         Conduct community-level health awareness sessions on iron-deficiency anemia, dietary practices and safe use of cast iron cookware.

         Assist in the distribution, orientation, and follow-up on cast iron pot usage among target households.

         Support health screening and hemoglobin testing camps in coordination with local health system.

         Work closely with Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs), local government health units, and project stakeholders.

         Collect health data, prepare field reports and document progress as per project guidelines.

         Promote behavior change communication (BCC) activities and ensure community participation.

 

Required Qualifications

Education: Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) in Nursing or Bachelor in Nursing (BN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognized institution

Licensing: Valid registration with the Nepal Nursing Council (NNC).

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in community health, maternal and child health, or nutrition programs.

Language: Fluency in Nepali, English and knowledge of local dialects in Nuwakot is highly preferred.

Additional Competencies

         Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

         Willingness to travel frequently within rural areas of Nuwakot

         Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry, email communication)

         Prior experience working with FCHVs or local NGOs will be an asset

         Preference will be given to female candidates and local applicants from project areas

Remuneration and Benefits

Salary and benefits will be per GEI-Asia’s staff policy and commensurate with qualifications and experience.


2. Position Title: Staff Nurse

Project: Kunna Karnali Region – Center for Agro-tourism, Health and Community Development

Duty Station: Kolti, Bajura District, Sudurpaschim Province, Nepal

Collaborating Partners: Four Rural/Municipalities in Bajura District

Employment Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (12 Months with possibility of extension)

Project Background

Global Envirotech Initiative Asia (GEI-Asia), in collaboration with four local rural/municipal governments of Bajura District, is implementing the Kunna Karnali Region – Center for Agro-tourism, Health and Community Development based in Kolti, Bajura. This initiative aims to integrate rural health services, agro-tourism development, and community empowerment in one of Nepal’s most remote and underserved regions.

The project focuses on improving community health outcomes—particularly maternal, child, and nutritional health—while supporting sustainable tourism, climate resilience, and rural livelihoods.

Position Overview

We are seeking motivated and qualified Local Staff Nurses to join our multidisciplinary field team in Kolti, Bajura. The Staff Nurses will support health promotion, outreach services, mobile clinics, and community-based interventions aligned with the integrated development vision of the Kunna Karnali region.

Key Responsibilities

         Deliver basic health services and health education in project areas, especially for women, children, and vulnerable populations.

         Coordinate and facilitate mobile health camps in partnership with local health posts and Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs).

         Provide counseling on nutrition, hygiene, maternal and reproductive health.

         Support agro-tourism-related health components, including tourist health support and community wellness promotion.

         Record and report data related to community health indicators and project outcomes.

         Promote local participation in health-related events, awareness campaigns, and trainings.

         Work closely with local governments and stakeholders from the four collaborating municipalities.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education: Proficiency Certificate Level (PCL) in Nursing or Bachelor in Nursing (BN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) from a recognized institution

Licensing: Valid Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) registration is mandatory

Experience: At least 1 year of experience in rural health, maternal and child health and community-based health programs (preferred)

Preferred Attributes

         Strong interpersonal communication, counseling, and facilitation skills

         Ability to work independently in remote and resource-limited areas

         Familiarity with Karnali Province’s rural health challenges

         Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, email)

         Fluency in Nepali, English and knowledge of local dialects spoken in Bajura is highly desirable

Priority will be given to candidates and residents of Bajura District, especially Kolti and the surrounding areas
