Expression of Interest (EOI) For Supply, Training, and Plantation of Vetiver Grass for Flood, Landslide Risk Mitigation in Mankal Rural Municipality, Lalitpur

Caritas Nepal, established in 1990, is a nonprofit organization working with marginalized communities through inclusive, participatory approaches to strengthen dignity, resilience, and social justice across sectors such as disaster risk management, livelihoods, and emergency response.

Caritas Nepal is implementing disaster risk reduction and climate resilience activities in flood- and landslide-prone areas of Mankal rural Municipality ward #1,2 and 3 through “Nepal Flood and Landslide Recovery Project, Bagmati 2025” funded by Caritas Italiana. As part of nature-based solutions, the project plans to use vetiver grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides) and bamboo cribs and embankments to mitigate soil erosion, landslides and flood risks.

To implement this intervention effectively, caritas Nepal invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from qualified vendors/service providers for the following Objectives:

• Supply of standard vetiver saplings
• Capacity Building: Field Based Training of field staff and Disaster Management Committee members in Vetiver plantation techniques and Nature Based solution techniques (Bamboo) in identified flood and landslide risk-prone areas.
• To establish vetiver plantations in selected flood, landslide and soil erosion risk areas
