Details / requirements:

We’re hiring an ‘Impact Manager’ to lead our monitoring and evaluation initiatives. As our ‘Impact Manager’ you will ensure we are making a measurable and meaningful difference in the lives of the talented kids and youth we exist to serve.

The Impact Manager’s main responsibility will be to lead the revision and improvement of our current monitoring and evaluation initiatives.  Initiatives that, in the end, boil down to assessing how effective our accelerating learning courses are at helping students learn and how good our fellowship programme is at helping youth grow. We need your help to answer questions like “How can we find ways to accurately and cost-effectively assess the learning levels of students enrolled in our accelerated learning courses?”, “How can we meaningfully introduce technology to improve our assessments?”, and “What structures and systems do we need in place to track and quickly disseminate results both internally in our team and externally in communication to our partners and donors?”

Your areas of responsibilities

  • Managing, coordinating, and leading our impact evaluation, which includes:
    • Planning, arranging and coordinating the execution of assessments and data entry on time.
    • Design and lead training sessions to prepare staff members and fellows to carry out assessments.
    • Visiting the field to supervise the work on the ground.
    • Identify opportunities to actively utilise results from assessments to improve the effectiveness of our learning initiatives.
    • Ensure our assessment tools and methods are valid and accurate.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to continuously strengthen our assessments tools, as well as developing tools to assess the quality and impact of our fellowship-programme.
  • Research, develop, and pilot new and innovative monitoring and evaluation initiatives. This includes keeping track of other leading educational organisations work both in Nepal and internationally.
  • Develop ways to share and communicate results from and insights internally with the CS Nepal team.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop content for impact evaluation reports and other communication channels that we actively use to communicate the impact of our work to stakeholders, donors and partners.
  • Work closely with the CS Nepal leadership to help build a strong team, and continuously work to improve our organisational culture.

You will be joining a team consisting of a Marketing Assistant, an Executive Director, who you will be reporting directly to, and our two Program Officers in Tulsipur, who you will be coordinating closely with. You will be stationed in Kathmandu, but will have to make frequent trips to the field – spending approx 10-20% of your time in Tulsipur, our current project area.

About you
You will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, have a minimum of 2 years experience in the nonprofit sector working with impact evaluations (ideally in the field of education), and be excited about joining a small, but growing organisation, where you will take active part in shaping its future. If you’re ready to take responsibility to get stuff done and you’re willing to challenge yourself to learn and grow as a manager and leader – then this position is for you.

About our pay & benefits
