Rangjung Yeshe Institute (RYI) is an institution of higher learning in Boudhanath for those wishing to deepen their understanding of Buddhist philosophy and practice. RYI has been conducting seminars and study programs for more than 25 years. Since 2001, the Institute has worked in close partnership with Kathmandu University to manage the Kathmandu University Centre for Buddhist Studies at RYI which offers undergraduate and post-graduate degree courses in Buddhist Studies and related topics.

Position: Human Resource Manager

Duration: 1 year (with possibility of extension)

Duty Station: Boudhanath, Kathmandu

Reports to: Principal

Position Description: The Human Resource Manager (HRM) is responsible for working with the Principal to ensure that RYI has clear and effective HR policies, procedures and plans so personnel are able to work effectively. The HRM will be responsible for both RYI’s staff and volunteers. The HRM will lead on recruitment and contracts, orientation, salary and benefit policies, performance, compliance with the Nepal Labour Laws, HR documentation and filing, and offboarding, The HRM will convene and keep the minutes of meetings of the Personnel Committee.

Qualified candidates will require HR and/or Administration experience of at least 10 years, excellent English and working knowledge of Nepali and Tibetan, computer skills in MS Word and Excel, BA or BSc, MSc, MBA/MBM, a high level of integrity and confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills.
