Short Film on 

Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Facilities for People with Disabilities

Introduction

SNV Netherlands Development Organisation is a non-profit international development organisation with headquarters in the Netherlands and programs in 36 countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. SNV contributes through strengthening the capacity of local organizations within three main sectors: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Agriculture and Renewable energy. SNV builds strong networks by maintaining both national and project offices across. 

As a part of World Toilet Day celebration on November 19th, SNV Nepal is planning to develop a short (maximum 10 minutes) informative film on access and use of sanitation and hygiene facilities by people living with disabilities (PLWDs). 

Purpose of video

The purpose of the video is to demonstrate good cases on sanitation and hygiene facilities for PLWDs in four settings: household, school, health institution, public area.

One case will be presented for each setting.  The video will show the physical facilities and their usage as well as interview with users (PLWDs) and people who manage the facilities on how the facilities help the users, what sort of aspects the managers have to take care of to ensure proper functioning, and what has been the impact of the facilities (before and after scenario) on the users, managers, surrounding people.

Timeframe (Duration of consultancy)

The assignment period shall be two weeks 30 October –13 November 2017.  

Expected Deliverables

  • Identify model cases in Kathmandu valley for the four settings and contact for permission of making video
  • One film (two copies each in DVD HD format and low resolution format for uploading) in Nepali
  • English sub-titles
  • Time: approximate 10 minutes
  • Upload on YouTube.
