Social Mobilization Officer

Details / requirements:

  • Liaise with local authorities and community heads identified in the community.
  • Responsible for the selection and training of community user groups/committee in close consultation with the field coordinator.
  • Work closely with and in the guidance of Field Coordinator and the thematic officer in planning, developing and implementing of all activities at the Districts.
  • Collects, arrange and submit all documents related with every procurement, payments, distributions and receipts.
  • Maintain goods receipt, issued to community and stock documents.
  • Formation and mobilization of user groups, construction/management committee for program implementation.
  • Support in preparation of periodic plan of the activities under the all define activity.
  • Develop a systematic database to store and information on user group, committee and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure the active participation of poor and excluded (women, girls, minority, ethnicity & socially exclude) groups in all activities.
  • Facilitate the community people to identify, select and prioritize rural infrastructure, skill oriented activities, to be supported using the available local resources in addition.
  • Conduct pre-feasibility/feasibility study, baseline/household survey & wellbeing ranking with active involvement of concern community members.
  • Facilitate the groups/committee to conduct regular meetings and updates records.
  • Supervise social mobilizers and field workers on daily as per the need.
  • Involve in the baseline, mid-term and KAP survey.
  • Ensure that the projects cash, materials and skilled labors are efficiently used.
  • Assist in preparing the agreement between users committee and BATAS.
  • Support to community in effective & timely implementation of approved activities.
  • Support to FC and officer for preparation of the period progress reports to provide the authentic field information/data/case studies.
  • Prepare monthly report.

Requirements (Qualification, experience, Knowledge and Skills)

  • At least Bachelor in social science or related field from recognized university.
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a comparable position
  • Computer literate, advance knowledge in excel is preferable
  • Ability to work in a team and to tight deadlines and in a dynamic work environment
  • Good reporting and analytical skills
  • Good command over verbal and written communication in English and Nepali
  • Experience of working with local NGOs and INGOs would be an additional advantage
