ISET-Nepal was established in 2001 as a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization to study and analyse developmental issues of rapidly changing social and environmental context that demand new insights into the emerging challenges to manage resources for sustainable development. ISET-Nepal is registered with the District Administration Office (CDO) and Social Welfare Council (SWC) of The Government of Nepal. It has dedicated its organizational focus to generate and disseminate knowledge on changing social and environmental context through research, publications and engagement in public debates to address the emerging challenges.

Request for Proposal

Surakshit Sahar is a disaster risk reduction project implemented in some core urban areas of Kathmandu valley. ISET-Nepal, with technical and financial support from ADRA, DCA, LWR and World Vision, has been implementing this project since August 2018. The project locations include ward numbers 10, 12 and 31 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and ward numbers 2, 9 and 11 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City. The project has activities covering disaster risk governance, disaster risk financing, disaster risk communication and GIS/ICT. 

This request for proposal is to solicit consultancy support service from qualified service provider (consultancy firms) for the following assignments.

Consultancy 1: Development of reference material for journalists on urban disaster risk reduction

Consultancy 2: Assessment of vulnerability and capacity of urban area and development of ward level plan

Interested consultancy firms should apply by submitting their proposal in a duly signed, stamped and sealed envelope separately for technical and financial proposal, clearly mentioning the title in the front of the envelope. It is expected that the service provider has read well and understood the objective, scope of work, proposal evaluation criterion and requirements for proposal submission. The closing date for application is 28th February 2019, 5 PMNST. The proposals submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.
