JOB PURPOSE:  Provide nursing care to the BGN entitled and eligible population at risk, in order to maintain health of these individuals.

KEY TASKS:

On Call:

To cover out of hours (telephone triage, attend medical centre as required and liaise with Senior Medical Officer and secondary healthcare providers, initiate emergency care and casevac)

Nurse clinical duties:

Routine clinical consultations. Perform immunisations and minor treatments independently, in accordance with PGD, perform venepuncture, lead role in infection control, cervical cytology, managing chronic disease, drug administration. Experience in handling emergency situations.

Nurse administration:

Lead Health Promotion campaigns, sound knowledge of performing audits, equipment care.

Routine care:

Responsible through the Senior Medical Officer Nepal for enabling the provision of primary care services.

Assist in the preparation of medical examinations including PULHHEEMS (Army fitness) and occupational medical examinations as required.

Ensure that data entered into patients’ records are contemporaneous, accurate, legible, concise and coherent.

Maintain confidentiality and respond to complaints in accordance with Defence Primary Health Care policy (DPHC).

Deliver health education when clinically appropriate.

Participate in shared clinical work with the SMO for professional development.

Clinical specimen management.

Healthcare governance:

Manage significant events with the SMO or PM and record on the ASER system.

Complete all mandatory training as stipulated by DPHC.

Participate in Continuing Professional Development in accordance with personal learning goals and requirements.

Report safeguarding concerns immediately to the SMO or PM.

Accountability:

Report to SMO as line manager for all clinical work.

To recognise the limitations of his/her own experience, seeking advice and referring to others when appropriate.

Undertake regular performance reviews and annual appraisals. Within these recognise the need for on-going education and training, and accept responsibility for undergoing relevant courses in discussion with the SMO.

Confidentiality:

To maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, clients staff in accordance with GDPR and Caldicott guidelines.

Any breach of data protection may render an individual liable for dismissal and/or prosecution.

Ideal candidate will display quality, efficiency, consistency in key areas of operation with organized approach.   Should be able to produce high standard work with minimum supervision within given time and should have understanding of the following:

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered with Nepal Nursing Council, Bachelors in nursing - minimum 5yrs of experience.

Maintain professional competence, Understanding of medical confidentiality.

Experience in emergency skills, maternal and child health, vaccinations, medical and surgical nursing.

BENEFITS:

Basic Salary             NPR. 70,877.00

Nursing Pay             4% on basic salary every month

Other benefit           Dashain Bonus, Gratuity, Provident Fund

Duty Hours              37hrs a week

Leave                      Annual 25 days, Public Holidays 10 days

Medical                   100% reimbursement for job holder and limited reimbursement for immediate dependents
