KOPILA VALLEY SEWA SAMAJ A world where every child is educated, safe and loved. Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj is a NGO based in Surkhet, Nepal. We have a growing project that provides support for disadvantaged children, families, and communities in the local area. Our programs include residential children’s home, a women’s empowerment center and family support, Children’s education. We do this with our funding partner, BlinkNow Foundation, and through close ties with the local community. Our mission is to change the world by empowering Nepal’s children. We strive to create an organization working to educate all of Kopila’s children until they are ready to enter the world as happy, skilled, confident and self-sufficient adults. We aim to serve as a model for quality education in Nepal. With our innovative Futures program, we strive to provide our children with career guidance, scholarships and the skills required to enter the world as global citizens, and ambassadors for change.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator: Women’s Empowerment oversees all of the Kopila Valley Women's Center (KVWC) programs. Your main focus is to ensure that the goals of the BlinkNow Foundation (INGO) and Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (NGO) are being met, and all activities are in keeping with the organisation’s strategic plan. You are responsible for ensuring all vocational, empowerment, and community trainings run smoothing and according to the WC curriculum. You will manage WC staff, provide leadership around key decisions, and empower the team to run day to day activities independently, and provide strategic planning for the continued growth and success of the WC.

As the Program Coordinator, you are a key link between operations in Nepal and the BlinkNow head office (USA). Your role is to maintain open communication with everyone in the organization. It is your responsibility monitor monthly budgets and spending, create progress reports, maintain WC statistics and tracking databases, provide social media content, and to provide consistent communication with the senior BlinkNow and KVSS administration.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Daily management of WC staff in Surkhet to ensure all programs, trainings, and engagement activities are running smoothly and according to the WC curriculum.
  • Run weekly meetings with BlinkNow staff in the US and KVSS staff in Surkhet to ensure WC goals are being met, challenges are addressed, and new ideas for increasing reach and impact are discussed.
  • Manage and track monthly spending to ensure WC activities are within budget.
  • Submit monthly reports and ensure constant communication with both BlinkNow and KVSS administration.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to provide social media, website, or email content as needed for all BlinkNow platforms.
  • Closely monitor and record data and statistics, new trainee surveys, community outreach surveys, etc. to track trends in women’s rights in Surkhet as well as the impact and relevance of the WC program. Manage monitoring and evaluation of all the WC’s training programs and trainee performance
  • Assist with strategic planning for the WC to ensure our programming continues to grow, to create new programming where needed, and find new and innovative ways to improve the lives of women in Surkhet.
  • Maintain and update all WC databases, administrative documents, and presentations to ensure all information is accurate and timely.
  • Build relationships and partnerships with local organizations both in Surkhet and in Kathmandu to help grow the WC’s offerings and impact in women’s empowerment.
  • Ensure employees are setting goals and making progress towards them in BambooHR
  • Liaising with other program areas, including the Kopila Valley School and Kopila Valley Children’s Home to foster cross-program collaboration
  • Working with BlinkNow Development Director to provide donor communication/updates as needed
  • Ensuring staff member of the NGO add holidays and absences on to BambooHR.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

Master’s degree in a relevant subject preferred

Experience:

4 years experience in a similar role

Language:

Fluent in English, Nepali
