Job Position: Finance Manager
Job Location: Kathmandu but Regular visits to district offices
A leading national level non-governmental organization (NGO) working in WASH sector looking for competent finance professional. Interested candidate can apply for the position as per following details.
Summary of the position
Responsible for overall financial management through ensuring accurate and timely reporting, timely disbursement of funds to district offices, support to store management and monthly reconciliation for funding partners as required.

Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting, invoicing, payroll, cash management and internal financial reporting.
- Lead and manage a team of Finance Officers and Accountants in the preparation of high quality of financial reports for a range of various donors.
- Ensure overall budgeting, financial planning and compilation of financial reports from district offices.
- Manage timely disbursement of funds to district offices.
- Ensures accurate and timely reporting as required by funding partners through concerned division.
- Prepare quarterly financial management report and present to the director and treasurer.
- Ensure proper financial system maintained by all regional offices and headquarters.
- Undertaking financial analysis for assisting with strategic planning
- Carryout external audit within 2 month from the end of fiscal year.
- Liaises with the Audit Committee and other auditors to ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements and standards.
- Responsible for management response of internal and external auditors’ queries.
- Prepare final accounts of the year-end and present to the management and board.
- Review the financial system and make recommendation to the director and board.
- Develop and review financial rules and regulations for approval from the Board.
- Inform staff through regional offices, division head and section head on any change in financial rules and regulations.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
- Continually reviews work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency; and potential issues in accounts, financial processes and controls and proactively raise management attention to act and resolve.
- Liaise with office’s managerial staff and other colleagues.
- To accomplish any other responsibilities outline by the line manager
- Minimum Requirements for the Job Position
- Master’s degree in finance or accounting with two years of work experience or Bachelor degree with minimum five years of work experience in the similar field. (Preferably Master Degree.)
- Proven financial planning experience at the management level
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and financial management software
- Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work on multiple high-value projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Nepali
Salary and Benefits
- Gross Monthly Salary: NRS 96000.00
- One month festival allowance of Basic salary
- PF (After probationary period)
- Total 33 annual leave and 15 days public holiday
