Finance Coordinator

KIRDARC Nepal is an NGO dedicated to Human Rights, Peace Building, Plural Media and Right to Development in the Karnali Zone since 1999.  It works with a mission to enable Karnali people to claim and exercise their rights for poverty reduction and improved livelihoods through their organisation, research, policy advocacy and judicious resources mobilisation.  It has been implementing various projects and programmes with the funding support of different partner organisations. 

KIRDARC Nepal seeks applications from eligible and competent Nepali citizens for the position of Finance Coordinator based in its Coordination Office in Kathmandu. The Finance Coordinator directly reports to the Executive Director and serves as the key member of the Senior Management Team.

Position:  Finance Coordinator (Kathmandu based with frequent field visit (60% Kathmandu Based and 40 % Field Visit)

Qualification and key competencies:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration/Management with specialization in Finance / Accounts. Preference will be given to an experienced Chartered Accountant.
• Minimum 5 years experience in financial management of organisations (preferably in development sector)
• Experience in successful implementation of a wide range of responsibilities in a prior accounting and finance position.
• Should have the managerial, quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills, sound knowledge in operating Accounting Software (FAMAS), proven ability to demonstrate work effectively to colleagues; strong organizational(operational and managerial )skills as well as excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Major responsibilities

• Finance Coordinator will be overall responsible to lead KIRDARC Nepal’s Financial Portfolio i.e. deliver efficient and compliant financial management ensuring the implementation of organization policy along with the compliances of funding partners and government existing requirement. Finance Coordinator will play a key role in overseeing KIRDARC’s financial relationship with partner organisations, as well as having significant delegated responsibility for financial management i.e. Budget Development; Planning; Financial Analysis, Projections, Prepare Grant Proposals and Financial / Management Reports ensuring all financial compliances as per rules of GON, Funding Partner and Organizational Policy. Support district team in planning, implementing, documentation and reporting.
• Ensure the compliance of financial policies, procedures, guidelines and standard formats with the institutional, donor and government standards.
• Develop, implement and analyze budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with programmatic strategies and financial reporting in accordance with government and funding partner requirements.
• Enhance the capacity of human resources to comply the institutional financial policy, procedures, guidelines and standards.
