We also work extensively on natural resource management, disaster management and climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. Its major interventions are directed towards poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups of people in rural areas.

Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN) is a Nepalese non-governmental development organization. RRN implements integrated community development programmes and projects on sustainable rural livelihoods, sustainable agriculture, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), child and adult education, biodiversity conservation, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change, community infrastructure development and support to local governments for governance strengthening and service delivery. RRN also provides emergency relief, recovery support and implements reconstruction projects targeting to the disaster-affected people.

With the funding of European Commission and partnership of Action Aid India RRN is looking for competent candidates to work for Freedom from Forced Labour and Modern Slavery Projectplanned to implement in Siraha, Saptari and Dang districts of Nepal. 

1. Field Coordinators – 3 (Based in Siraha, Saptari and Dang) 

Key Responsibilities:

    • The position is based at field offices to look after the project activities in Siraha, Saptari and Dang districts with frequent visits to the project sites. The major roles and responsibilities of the incumbent are:
    • To ensure overall planning and timely implementation of activities of the project “Freedom from Forced Labour and Modern Slavery Project” engaging  with local authorities and partners 
    • To provide all necessary supports to meet the  objectives of the project
    • To protect and promote the human rights and freedom of forced and bonded labour (BL) especially in agriculture sector in Nepal. 
    • To promote effective system and mechanism for prevention  from bondage and access the human rights and entitlements through social mobilization, economic empowerment and rescue and rehabilitation of bonded labour in the agriculture sector with special needs focusing on achievement of the project results as described in the project document
    • To undertake other relevant tasks as required by the project in a team approach including monitoring and preparation of the project reports

Core Competencies, Qualifications & Experiences:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science or relevant disciplinary (Masters Preferred)
    • At least 4 years’ of work experience in human rights, right-based approach to promote and ensure effective systems and mechanisms for prevention from bondage related development projects.

2. Accountant -1- field based

Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintains secured custodian of documents and accounting data
    • Deals with, bank and tax office 
    • Arrangement of necessary financial transactions at field level.
    • Make Fund Request in time so that project activities would not suffer shortage of necessary fund for payments.
    • Maintains books of accounts using RRN’s guidelines. 
    • Prepares and compiles monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and submit to Central Office.
    • Prepares monthly expenditure for monthly Budget vs. Actual for submitting to Project Manager, Finance Officer at Central Office for cash disbursement analysis, 
    • Reviews payment vouchers to ensure all compliances, ensure local and national legal requirements relating to tax on rent and project payment, review payroll of RRN staff for all adjustments and accuracy.
    • Obtains monthly bank statement prepare bank reconciliation statement and submit to the Central Office.

Core Competencies, Qualifications & Experiences:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting 
    • At least 1year’s relevant work experience on accounting 
    • In depth understanding, knowledge and skills on financial transactions, accounting principles and GAAP.
    • Knowledge of Nepalese taxation policies, tax laws/rules/regulations
    • Knowledge of Accounting software or should be able to quickly learn and work on accounting software
    • Should be comfortable to work extended hours, if so required.
    • Should be willing and contribute to create friendly working environment 
    • Should be well versed in English and Nepali languages and have good knowledge of computer skills with general software such as Microsoft Office and any accounting software, knowledge of FAMAS will be preferred. 

3. Social Mobilizers -4 (3 for Siraha, Saptari and 1 for Dang )

Key Responsibilities:

    • Formation and mobilization of Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
    • Identification and organization of freed bonded labours
    • Organizing and conduction of  training for agricultural labours
    • Writing case stories
    • Conduction of meeting and writing minutes report to report to Field Coordinator.

Core Competencies, Qualifications & Experiences:

    • Intermediate (10+2) degree in relevant disciplinary.
    • At least 2 years relevant work experience with national/international organizations (I/NGOs)
    • Should be able to formulate the district work plans, detail implementation plan (DIP) of project activities.
    • Should be capable in developing operational plan, budget plan and able to write effective reporting skills and case study writing skills etc.
    • Should be able to plan as per guideline and prepare the report of the assessment.
    • The emolument shall be as per organizations rules. However, it can also be negotiated for deserving candidates.
