Background

The Promoting Agriculture, Health and Alternative Livelihoods (PAHAL) program is a five year, $37 million initiative designed to achieve food security among vulnerable populations in 14 districts in the middle and high hills of far-west and mid-west Nepal. PAHAL is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA)/Office of Food for Peace (FFP).

For Annual Reporting, as part of Annual Collection of Data, PAHAL program will have two annual surveys, i.e. Annual Beneficiary Collection of Data and Agriculture Collection of Data survey for fiscal year 2018. The data for Agriculture Collection of Data (AGCD) is collected using paper questionnaires in all 14 Districts, by LNGO partner staff,for approximately 2200 respondents.The data collected through the paper questionnaires then needs to be entered into pre developed excel formats, for which PAHAL seeks to hire 15 Data Entry clerks; who will enter these data for further analysis by the program team.

Objectives

To ensure that all the data collected on paper,during the AGCD are accurately entered into a pre-developed excel format.

Timeline

15 working days, between 21 June 2018 to 31 July 2018.

Note: The work days might not be consecutive.

Number of Data Entry Clerks required: 15

Evaluation Criteria: The applicants will be selected through a two-step selection process.

• The first step would include shortlisting of eligible candidates based on the shortlisting eligibility criteria mentioned below.
• In the second step all the shortlisted candidates will go through a Practical Data Entry Test.

Shortlisting Eligibility Criteria:

• Intermediate pass in any subject from recognized university or board.
• A certificate/mark sheet which indicates completion of basic computer course, either through a computer institute or school/college.

Practical Data Entry Test: Time duration for the test is 30 minutes

• The practical data entry test will test the ability of the shortlisted candidates to enter data in English with good speed and minimum errors.
• Filled hard copy questionnaires and excel data entry formats will be provided to the shortlisted candidates during the test. They will be asked to enter the data from the filled hard copy questionnaire into the excel data entry format.
• The hard copy data provided can either be in Nepali or English. Hence, ability to understand both English and Nepali language is required.
• Candidates who demonstrate highest speed with minimum errors will be selected.

Grading

Typing Test = 80 /100 points

Education = 10/100 point

Excel Training = 10/100 point

PAHAL Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager will evaluate and assess the test.

Other requirements

All data entry clerks should have their own laptops, to be used for the assignment and also for the Practical Data Entry Test process.

The incomplete quotation or quotation received after closing date will not be considered.
