Job Description: Business Development Officer

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer is client-facing role which covers the full sales cycle, from pre-sales to sales and post-sales support of the company’s products. He /she achieves and exceeds individual and teamsales targets by selling solutions across a portfolio of products andservices to businesses. He/She develops the market at a national (Nepal)and international scale as well.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn it into increased business:
  • Identify and research on potential clients; approach potential clients, obtain and update client visit details, understand client requirements, demonstrate the products’ features, increase business opportunities through various routes to market;
  • Lead proposal to clients: prepare proposal as per client requirements,coordinate the internal proposal review process, forward proposal toclient, negotiate commercial agreements, ensure confirmation ofproposal approval, maintain Proposal Approval Confirmation Recordand close deals with clients;
  • Prepare Product Requirement Document (PRD), obtain approval onthe same from concerned managers, prepare contract documentafter receiving confirmation on proposal approval, arrange meetingfor signing offthe contract document and/or Non-DisclosureAgreement (NDA) between client and the company
  • Trainings: Provide trainings to customers on company’s flagship products
  • Account Management: identify existing client’s ongoing requirementsand sell add-on products; give detailed information on technicalspecifications an;d the ways in which they could meet a customer'sneeds
  • Liaise with technical teams to understand technicalities of newproducts;
  • Prepare and Update Daily Marketing Report (Call planning, sales/marketing activities);
  • Present to and consult with management onbusiness trends with a view to developing new products, services anddistribution channels;
  • Handling customer complaints: Receive complaints/issues, updateCustomer Complaint Log, understand and analyze customercomplaints/ issues, forward the same to the concerned department,track resolution of complaints and inform customer on status ofcomplaints/issues;

Basic requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor BBS, BBA; Master MBS and MBA is a big plus
  • Proven track record in Marketing (minimum of 2-year experience), experience in IT sector is an advantage;
  • Ambition, determination, self-confidence and strong networking skills;
  • Good problem-solving skills;
  • Good technical understanding;
  • Ability to sell solutions and to able to build solid relationships;
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable performing demonstrations;
  • Ability to cope well under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Decisive, intuitive, tactful, team player;
  • Impeccable English (spoken and written).
