It is a pioneer, an autonomous, non-profit making, non-racial and non-political, non-governmental organization established with the prime aim of contributing to environment friendly sustainable development. Civic Forum has been registered since March 16, 2004 (Registration Number 785/2060/61) in accordance with section 4 of Associations Registration Act, 1977 of Nepal in District Administration Office (DAO) Kavrepalanchok under Government of Nepal (GoN), Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and has also been affiliated to the Social Welfare Council (SWC) since March 26, 2004 under section 13 of the Social Welfare Act, 1992.

Civic Forum for Sustainable Development (Civic Forum), one of the leading members based Nepalese non-government organization (NGO) at Kavrepalanchok district is implementing the project “Demonstration of SDGs 6 (6.1 & 6.2) compliance on WASH in Communities, Kavre District (Province-3)” in partnership with UNICEF Nepal. Civic Forum invites application from qualified and experienced candidates for the following position: 

Position: Admin and Finance Officer (AFO)

No. of Vacancy: 1

Minimum Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) or Commerce (B.com) from recognized institution/University

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year professional working experience in governmental or non-governmental organizations as Admin and Finance Officer (AFO).
  • Should have knowledge and skill of account keeping /management, administrative works, coordination and communication. 
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing both in English and Nepali language.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office package software (Word, excel, power point), email/internet and account software especially Tally accounting software.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated to work and should have excellent interpersonal skills.

Position: WASH Engineer

Minimum Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering from recognized institution/University

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years professional working experience in Community WASH.
  • Proven technical and supervision of Community WASH facilities construction, implementation of Water Safety Plan (WSP), DRR, able to understand the design and BoQ and quality control of construction work.
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing both in English and Nepali language.
  • Knowledge of computer skills, Auto CAD, Drawing, Feasibility study, Detail survey, Mapping, Estimating and costing, Construction supervision, Monitoring, Valuation, Running bill and Completion of report.
  • Candidate should be highly motivated to work in the sector of sustainable water supply, sanitation and cleanliness promotion with excellent interpersonal skills.

Position: Hygiene Promotion and Documentation Officer

Minimum Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor in Public Health or related subject

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in related field. (Public health promotion, Menstrual Hygiene Management, DRR, Water safety plan, Child centered DRR risk assessment, Environment sanitation promotion and soil waste management).
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, writing and listening in English. 
  • Should bear skill and knowledge of report writing both in English and Nepali language.
  • Skilled in computer (especially MS office packages, including email and internet).
  • Should have excellent assessment, analytical and planning skills.
  • Good understanding of the health and hygiene risks of poor rural and urban communities and of appropriate ways of tackling them. Must be aware of and sensitive to the particular needs of women’s hygiene and cleanliness in this context.
  • Sensitivity towards cultural differences and the ability to work in a wide variety.

Position: Social Mobiliser (SM)

Minimum Academic Qualification: 

  • CMA/ANM course from recognized institution/10+2

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in the field of social mobilization and community development.
  • Good communication, ability to manage conflicts, work in a team and under pressure are required.
  • Understanding of gender equality and inclusion and ability to access and analyze social dimension to adapt according to the context.
  • Candidate should bear knowledge/skill on Public Health Promotion, Environment sanitation promotion and Child centered DRR risk assessment.
  • Should bear knowledge on Report writing and basic computer skills.
  • Candidate should be capable of giving orientation to adolescent girls on menstrual hygiene management, cleanliness, etc.

Position: Support Staff (SS)

No. of Vacancy: 1

Minimum Academic Qualification: 

  • Basic Education

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a support staff in any governmental/non-governmental or any community related organizations.
  • Skill and capability on office management, security, daily cleanliness, administrative help, co-ordination and communication.
  • Candidate should be capable of Basic computer skills including use of email and internet.
  • Should be trustworthy and honest.

Contract Duration: 2 months (Possibility of extension on the basis of performance)
