GIS Project Manager

Details / requirements:
Job Description:
- Oversee Satellite Image Extraction, GIS, Digitzation, Superimposition, Mapping projects and mobilize the team to accomplish project goals on time
- Develop and enforce GIS standards for Geodata management, Map design and GIS based data collection activities project work plans, determine resource requirements, plan, coordinate and oversee GIS related project activities to ensure on-time delivery.
- Supervise but also engage, if needed, in mapping and spatial analysis through the use of GIS software and other relevant available tools
- Prepare data and documents (technical proposals, reports and handover documents) as per the requirements of projects
- Actively communicate with clients and partner organizations and maintain a good coordination between the clients and the team
- Report to the senior management and board of directors on overall status of projects, achievements and lags while also sharing lessons learnt during project implementation
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of GIS, Geodatabase, coordinate system transformation and spatial analysis using GIS.
- Proficiency with GIS mapping tools and software
- Good understanding of OpenStreetMaps and and other digital web based mapping platforms
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication reflecting directly on the documents, presentations and communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent projects and in high pressure
- Experience in R and Web GIS programming, Google Earth Pro is highly valuable
- Prior work experience of Land Use Plan, Master Plan or Periodic Plan will be an advantage.
Other Specification
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics Engineering with at least 2 years of work experience.
- Masters in Geography or Forestry with at least 3 years of experience working directly in GIS mapping projects.
