Center for Dalit Women Nepal is a national level non-governmental organization dedicated in the political, social and economic empowerment of Dalits, women and marginalized groups in Nepal. CDWN was founded by a group of Dalit women social activists and political leaders in 2016. The organization has been contributing for“A society free from caste and gender discrimination” by fulfilling the mission to “Support creation of enabling environment for Dalit and marginalized women’s participation in public life”.

Center for Dalit Women Nepal calls for application for the position of a FINANCE OFFICER for the Project “Fostering effective and inclusive sub-national governance”. The overall goal of the project is to achieve a stable, effective and inclusive sub-national governments of Nepal that cater the need of the women and the marginalized communities. The project will be implemented in Damak (Province 1), Mithila (Province 2), Bhimeshwor (Province 3), Waling (Province 4), Tansen (Province 5), Birendranagar (Province 6) and Tikapur (Province 7). The finance officer will be responsible for:

  • Reporting to the Executive Director
  • Prepare and carry out day-to-day financial transactions according to the CDWN under the supervision of the ED.
  • Obtain and check all bills/invoices and other necessary supporting documents, including travel claims and advance settlements, before preparing the payments.
  • Prepare vouchers in the FAMAS accounting software Financials or the agreed system and facilitate in checking by the ED and approval of the Management.
  • Carry out the bank operations and control including deposits and issuing cheques for payments.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements after obtaining bank statements and outstanding advance summary form every month.
  • Print out all the accounting sheets from ‘FAMAS or the agreed system while preparing the monthly financial report.
  •  Prepare Budget Monitoring Statement of assigned projects periodically.
  • Carry out necessary adjustments, including adjustments after receiving the final report from district/regional offices of CDWN.
  • Assist in providing technical assistance to and monitoring of district/regional offices in the area of financial management.
  • Carry out all tasks related to VAT refunds, if any, and tax deposits and clearances of the project
  • Handle the payroll system of district staffs
  • Undertake annual closing of the accounts in 'FAMAS' or the agreed system

       

      Requirement:

  •        Masters degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant subjects

  •       Ability to multitask and work in a team

  •       Excellent time management skill and ability to work efficiently under pressure

  •       Brilliant presentation and communication skills

  • Willing and able to travel to the project implementation area
