National Level Advocacy Coalition

The USAID-funded Water Program (पानीपरियोजना), known as the Paani Program, is a five-year project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by DAI Global LLC (DAI). The Paani Program’s goal is to enhance Nepal’s ability to manage water resources for multiple uses and users through climate change adaptation and the conservation of freshwater biodiversity. The USAID Paani Program is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from organizations and/or consortiums to undertake the design and establishment of a Nepal Sustainable Hydropower Coalition. This call provides an overview of the opportunity, requirements for the expression of interest, evaluation criteria, and overall process, and explains the next steps for the design and formulation of the Nepal Sustainable Hydropower Coalition. The purpose of this Call for Expression of Interest is to allow stakeholders and interested parties to provide valuable input into the purpose and design of an advocacy coalition to promote sustainable hydropower and sustainable management of river basins in Nepal. To increase the Paani Program’s knowledge of the capacities, expertise, and interest among potential coalition partners to support, or directly undertake, the eventual leadership and implementation of a national sustainable hydropower advocacy plan. 

The call for EOI is the first of the following five-phase process: (1) Call for Expression of Interest; (2) Shortlisting/pre-qualifying of potential Advocacy plan implementation partners: (3) Co-creation event; (4) Concept note submission and evaluation; and (5) Negotiation and Award(s).

The expression of interest should be submitted by email to PaniProcurementInbox@dai.com, on or before Feb 28, 2020, 5:00 pm, Nepal time.
