CBM initiated its work in Nepal since 1982 and supports a diverse mix of national partners engaged in Inclusive Eye and Ear Care, Rehabilitation, Education, and Social Inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Background (Organization):

CBM Global Disability Inclusion is an international development organization, committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world irrespective of race, gender or religious belief. CBM has been working in Nepal since 1982. CBM’s work in Nepal spans across all of the provinces and based on a programmatic approach to ensure inclusive development of persons with disabilities. Based on its core values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM addresses poverty both as a cause and consequence of disability and works in partnership with local and national civil society organizations to create an inclusive society for all.

Background of assignment:

The overall objective of the CBID approach is contributing to improvement of quality of life of persons with disability by accessing the community services on an equal basis. Which means support to create empowering environment for persons with disabilities and they will be able to advocate for systemic change in communities removing barriers to services, resources planning and decision-making process.

Also support local government and service providers to enact disability inclusive policies, build or modify existing services for making them accessible.

The Expression of Interest for Roster of Community Based Inclusive Development (CBID) training to project leads from the partner organizations. The focus of the training should be on Community based inclusive development (CBID) approach through meaningful participation of person with disabilities in local development process and services delivery.

The tentative date of delivery of the training is 3rd or 4th week of Dec 2022.

Type of assignment: Development and delivery of Community Based Inclusive Development theme focused session in a training in close collaboration with CBM Global Nepal focal persons.

Key role and responsibilities

  • Session development as per the assigned theme
  • Facilitation of the assigned session for the CBID training.

Proposed Deliverable

Facilitator/consultants are requested to mention your area of expertise or interest as below mentioned content:

  • Analysis/ community mapping and engagement of OPDs.
  • CRPD, SDG and local development
  • National inclusive policies, laws and practices
  • OPD engagement and Disability inclusion in Nepal
  • Accessibility and reasonable accommodation
  • Breaking the barriers
  • Disability and Gender
  • Intersectionality
  • Climate change and disability
  • Disability and poverty cycle
  • System strengthening for inclusive development.

Required qualification and documents

Interested firms/individual consultants must submit:

  • Duly filled & signed consultant registration form along with the copies of PAN/VAT certificate, firm registration, tax clearance certificate, experience certificates from other NGO/INGOs and Aid agencies. Consultant Registration form can be obtained Here.
  • Demonstrated the experiences in designing and delivering the training in the areas of disability, inclusion, governance system strengthening and cross cutting community issues
  • CV of the purposed consultant
  • Financial proposal; clearly mention Hourly and daily charge.

Eligibility of the firms/consultant

Timeline: Application deadline is 4th Dec 2022; Application received beyond the timeline will not be accepted for review. The consultant will be selected based on above mentioned qualification, technical competencies and financial proposal.
